Some of the best Ramen around!!
Small but terrific place with great service. They have a range of items from delicious sushi, donburi, and ramen.I had the California roll (solid for the fake crab kind of California roll), a fresh mixed salad with sesame dressing (could have used a bit more dressing), the volcano roll (quite tasty with a great presentation), and a side of the spicy pork belly (very tasty!).I liked the contactless ordering but surprisingly they didn't have contactless payment. Staff was friendly and helpful. A nice local spot to return to.
My husband and I haven’t gotten to try much sushi since we moved here in July. This place came highly recommended by some of our dear friends and it didn’t disappoint!Well this place is small it feels very cozy and I just love the ambience! While they do bring you a paper menu, you can scan a QR code and just order on your phone rather than waiting on the waitress to return. Super easy!We ordered quite a few different dishes and enjoyed them all!The first dish to arrive was the specialty role that involved tempura shrimp. It was described as being spicy, but wasn’t at all! It simply had great flavor which was perfect for me! Next time we return, I will get my own role so I don’t have to share with my husband. LolSecond to arrive war the dumplings. It looked as though they were steamed and then sat down in a hot pan to crisp up the bottom. I loved these two different textures and the flavor was even better!Next we received the bullGogi Bao buns. I felt that they were of a generous size. Sometimes I find the buns to be small but so puffy that you can’t fit much inside them. These gave a decent amount of meat and tasted perfect with the spicy mayo dipping sauce on the side! We ended up ordering a second round of these because my husband was so smitten!Lastly, we got our bowl of Ramen. I think we chose the miso broth and obviously the Ramen noodles, Bulgogi and extra corn. The flavor was great! My husband was definitely a fan of this as well!My husband somehow had room for dessert and went with the Moki. He was very pleased.I can’t wait to go back and get more of that sushi and the dumplings! I can’t wait!
Small hole in the wall ramen, sushi and sake bar. Has variety of sakes... Find out which ones your favorite.
I am someone who eats at ramen restaurants very frequently. Out of all the ramen restaurants I’ve tried, Maki is my absolute favorite. The ramen is absolutely amazing (I recommend the bulgogi steak ramen). Friendly staff, too
Every time I come here, the food always comes out quick and delicious. Amazing staff, food and hospitality. Food is very fair priced; definitely getting what you pay for. Place is almost always busy and I can understand why! Special thanks to Yong for being amazing and going above and beyond. Always recommend this place and love coming here with friends. Recommend the green tea, volcano ramen and calamari!
Seafood ramen. Broth was flavorful but not overly salty. Good amount of seafood. Scallops, shrimp, mussels, surimi. Ramen was chewy, cooked perfectly al dente. Service was fast and food was hot.Best ramen in town. Parking may be difficult.
Really good all around. The Kakuni Belly Buns were delicious with the spicy mayo. May have eaten them too quickly. These I will definitely order every time I'm here. The Grilled Pork Belly Ramen with the Tonkotsu soup base was also tasty. In the upper echelon of ramen I have had but not the best. Small restaurant in a shopping center without enough parking. Just means there are a lot of good restaurants in the area! I like that after getting there to pick up my carry out order, they delivered the food to my car.
I was hesitant to believe all the glowing reviews about the ramen at Maki but I am happy to join those glowing ranks. Some of the best ramen I've ever had.Got the bulgogi ramen - An excellent choice. The buns with bulgogi were also a win. We liked them best with the citrus sauce although the mayo-y spicy was good too.Had to wait about 90min for a table on a Thursday evening - only about 7 tables open because of covid. Got milk tea at a place in the same shopping center during the wait (Tea-do) which was delicious.Staff were all so nice...but slow. Took about 35min to get the ramen after sitting down and ordering. Then took about 25min to get the check once we were done (about 10min before closing). I now understand why the wait is so long for a table. Parking in the lot was easy to find.
If I'm in Rockville, this is my go to Japanese restaurant. It's small, very much in the style you find in Japan. I use to frequent here for lunch during the workday. Raman and donburi are my faves. The Sushi is pretty delicious.Recently tried the uni dumplings with avocado and they were ??. I didn't like the brisket buns. They had zero meat and just pure fat and it was not tender at all.
