Excellent food. Impecable service.
Went for lunch on Friday, about 10 minutes after opening. Place was very tastefully decorated and the staff was quite friendly. Prices were on the higher side, especially for lunch, but the food was very good. We ordered the Ceviche, Pollo Saltado, Tallerin a la Huancaina, and the Lamb shank(forgot the name, but it was good). They also gave us a little “ceviche wonton” that was the house, delicious! There was a miscommunication that led to us receiving chicken instead of beef with the pasta, but they were nice about it and the chicken was yummy. I would definitely come again, and try the Picarones(sweet potato and squash donut)next time.
I say hidden gem because this restaurant has been tucked away in the corner of Rockville Town Square for years and is not super well known but is really one of the best in town. It serves what I understand to be authentic Peruvian dishes (the menu is certainly not obviously Americanized). Our food was excellent. We all tried different dishes, the trout, the paella (they called it something different) and I had something call lamb fusion. Our server was very friendly and knowledgeable. The upstairs tables are preferred. We did have to wait a bit longer than usual but it didn't bother us as they had a packed house on Saturday night which was nice to see after the pandemic. Definitely worth a visit.
I can't write a review since we waited for 15 minutes after being seated and no one came to the table to pick up orders or anything. Waiting... Waiting... We left and no body noticed that we were there!
This is one of the best peruvian Restaurant I ever had. All the food including the drinks were Excellent. I recommend the chicken causa for appetizer.. it is so delicious. And I also recommend the pescado a lo macho entrée.
The food and the attention here was stellar. You will not be disappointed. Food is worth the price, Tastes fresh and authentic. Our new go to place!
WOW! Picked this place totally at random because it sounded delicious online. It was incredible. All four of us loved our dishes. Flavors were complex and original. Food was perfectly cooked. But, by far the best part was the service. It rivaled the service in the best restaurants I have ever been to. Absolutely recommend and we will be back.
Generally, not bad. The appetizer chicharrones were top notch, as was the huancaina sauce. The beef was a bit overdone, and my friend who ordered the arroz con mariscos said it wasn't something they would reorder. I was disappointed that only 3/5 of the desserts were available.
Friendly people !!! food delicious ?
We liked La Canela. The place is very clean. They follow covid protocols. Thank you. The Lomo Saltado is delicious. The aji de gallina es very good but not as good as the lomo saltado. Wine is EXTREMELY EXPENSIVE even the house wine. The service was very good. The presentation of plates is very pleasant. The portions are good. The carry out is good and include same portions as the ones requested at the restaurant
