Upscale dining with african music playing in the background. Great location as well. Lovely food, enjoyed it. Will definitely visit again with friends.
Went with my family for dinner one weekend. The food was amazing! Very fresh and well-seasoned. We enjoyed the gizzard dish tremendously. My daughter got the kids’ sliders which was plenty for that night and the next day’s lunch. Music was great and the ambiance was very inviting. We will return!
The ambience was great and the waiters were helpful and professional. Large TV screens to watch sports events. There was a live performance which enhanced the experience. However, the food was lackluster in taste and really did not impress me and several others on my table. Better tasting food will make this place an all round entertainment center.
Even if you aren’t familiar with Pan African food, give this place a shot. The flavors are amazing. If you want something familiar, try the chicken wrap. The flavor profile and spices elevate this wrap and make it truly something special. The dipping sauce that comes with the potatoes is also noteworthy.
The location and ambience was really nice. However the food needs some serious attention. They were priced right, the lack of flavor lost me. I have to agree with the other reviewers on the food. If you are looking for authentic Africa or Nigeria dish, this is not it! Having jollof rice taste like Spanish rice is a hell nah for me. We ordered multiple dishes just to be sure too. With all that said, i hope they revisit their dishes and improve.
We really wanted to like this spot but the food was some of the worst that we have ever eaten in a restaurant. The pepper pot fish soup had a burnt taste and the fish itself was lacking any seasoning. The calamari was mediocre; this was the only dish we ate in its entirety. The jollof rice was much too spicy to enjoy, even for us who like spicy food. We were only able to stomach about a quarter of the very small bowl portion. The shrimp were over seasoned and dry. While the atmosphere was nice and our waitress was friendly (but very inexperienced), it could not make up for the terrible food. Would absolutely not recommend. The entire menu and food needs to a do over.
Nice location and ambiance.. Unfortunately the food is overpriced without the matching quality or portions. The spring rolls were soggy and seemed to have been fried from being frozen, the suya tasted nothing like any authentic African recipe, the gizzard and plantain appetizers were tasteless, so were the sliders from the kids menu.. The plantains sides were the only items worth eating. I'd love to see this place succeed given that there are few African restaurants in the area with a decent restaurant. If nothing changes, these guys will be out of business soon as I do not anticipate many customers will becoming back for the food. Not those who know African food anyway.
I ordered the most popular dish. Steak suya. Burned and dry. Plastered with dry rub. For a 19 dollar dish the portion was less than 1/3 what it should be. McDonald’s puts out better food.
I came here with my boyfriend a couple of weeks and we were both blown away by the food and the service! We got the asun spicy sauced to start out and then the grilled chicken suya wraps. All of the food was delicious and the service was impeccable. We are definitely planning to come back and try more of their dishes as well as recommending this place to our family and friends. You won't be disappointed.
The ambience, food, service, and flavors were excellent! I only gave 4 stars because the goat meat "asun" I ordered was not in a sauce as I expected and the Mojito was a little 'flat'..Go visit! It's worth the time and affordable too.?
