The meat content in their dishes are pathetically low!! I ordered combination Lo Mein ... found hardly 3 tiny shrimps and couple of pieces of other meats like chicken/beef/pork etc. also no veggies...taste below average! This is the second time happening ... will not be going back there anytime soon. Other nearby places like Jumbo Cafe Asia Taste, Wang Manor are much much better places. Don't be fooled by their low prices .... you have been warned!
This place is going down hill. They make sloppy dumplings now. First the dumpling are in a weird huge shape. They are big, but that’s not how traditional dumpling looks like. Second they got lazy on the chopping of the food. I ordered a shrimp chive dumpling, the shrimp aren’t even chopped, they are just very small. And they didn’t even mixed in with the chives. This place used to have really good dumpling but not anymore.
I have always loved this place for delicious cheap dumplings, which is what they're known for. Their other food items don't shine as much, so if you come here, order the dumplings!!! The chive pancakes are great too!
If it weren’t for their staff being so rude I would give this restaurant 5 stars. The food is amazing, but my friend who picked it up was treated so horribly inside the restaurant. I am going to go myself next time and try it again. Hopefully they are more friendly or else I get takeout elsewhere. :(
This was our first visit post-pandemic (or to be more precise -- post pandemic shutdown), and we found Mama's Dumplings exactly as it was before. Dumplings were great, veggie dishes were fine, and noodle dishes were lovely. Everything was served hot, and the overall service was fine. We came on a Saturday night and found the place only half full. In the past, it would have been crowded. But we did notice a table filled with take-out orders so maybe business wasn't as mediocre as it appears. We would be delighted to return here soon. This is a great place for a group of six or eight people to share a meal. There are many different kinds of dumplings and other dishes to share. A group get you a lot of variety. Prices are on the cheap side. Our table of six hungry people (with a couple of teenagers) had dinner for $100.
We go here for the dumpling but the owner is not the most race friendly person. And she thinks after paying you for already over priced food that she deserve a huge tip. Ridiculous. We have gone less over the years. Soon NEVER!!!
I read a number of reviews of China Bistro. The main reactions seem to be from dumpling lovers. Other menu options do not seem to be reviewed much. I did not order dumplings. I ordered the Crispy Beef and Hot and Sour soup. The soup was tasty. For $2.50, I expected a little more. The Crispy Beef was good, but the portion seemed small for $14.95 as compared to other local places for the same dish.
I am embarrassed to see how the cashier at this place treats people. They are rude to my non Chinese friends. My friends asked for some spicy sauce and the cashier shouted at them and asked them to go away. This happened twice. I hope the owner of this place trains his staff to provide good customer service. I will not recommend this place to anyone and I hope people stop supporting such restaurants that show racist behavior.
Delicious dumplings...we tried the Mama's and the Shrimp dumplings...loved the Mama's. Also tried Scallion Pancakes and Black Pepper Beef, both were good. Service was friendly. Both orders of Dumplings were huge...I think 10 dumplings each...
Been going here for 8 years specifically for the dumplings. I have noticed over the past few years the dough lacks consistency lately but regardless they are still some of the best in the area. I am partial to the mammas dumplings.
