I’m convinced that good customer service is a thing of the past. Employees had attitudes, looked like we were inconveniencing them, and one of the employees making my salad wouldn’t even speak. I asked if they had lime and she shakes her head no. My bf asked for extra chicken in his burrito and the employee who made his burrito yells up to the cashier saying, “he got extra chicken! Don’t forget!” The soda (coke) was so syrupy that we couldn’t even drink it…and why is there always gnats/fruit flies flying all around Cafe Rio’s? This isn’t even the first one we’ve been to where the gnats/fruit flies are all over the place.
It was alright. I got the sweet pork salad and was thrown off by how different the portions were compared to what I was used to. In the past the salad is around 30% meat to 70% salad, but this time it was closer to 10% meat 90% salad.(this is just my opinion on the salad, the service itself was good and the taste of it all was also good. The portions themselves just seemed askew compared to other locations I've been to, with a lot less meat and a lot more lettuce and rice)
A Mexican restaurant that carried NO hot sauce. There was NO tea, and they had limited specialty drinks (that Cafe Rio promotes). The enchilada sauce seemed really watered down compared to other Cafe Rio and other Mexican restaurants. The loyal customer app was a fiasco. And, even after contacting the corporate office, there was zero response. I guess they don't need the business anymore.
Pretty good for a fast food Mexican type establishment. I got the tacos wich were good and the tortillas were made from scratch. The only con I would say is the fact there is an upcharge for the rice and beans. I do understand as the prices for anything are crazy.
Excellent food at some of the best prices.I recommend the burrito enchilada style with sweet pork and red sauce. The sauce is not too spicy.
I’m giving two star just for the food. The service is horrible, I don’t think I will ever go back to this location.
Was a regular here about 2 years ago, the cut back on the amount of food is drastically different. I asked for more rice and was told it'd be extra cost. Done with this location.
Used to love coming here, but the new people they hired were terrible. Bad attitude, the rice and tomatoes and onions were less than half of what they used to put in my enchilada. When I asked for a little more the lady told me it costs extra ? I’m done with this location
I have never been disappointed by their sweet pork barbacoa. Their menu allows for healthier tostadas and salads as well as a decadent enchilada or burrito enchilada style covered in cheese. They've got deserts like dulce de Leche and other mixed drinks (non-alcoholic) like a mint lemonade.
the food is amazing at cafe rio rockville. the only problem with this location is the horrible smell of sewer when you walk into the restaurant. i only do carryout at this location because of the smell. i've been here numerous times and there is no problem with the food as long as you can get past the odor when you walk in. every time i have been at this one, there are no customers eating inside the restaurant, only people getting carryout.
