This store has me to the POINT of no return….to any other places ?. I love love love coming here. If you’re just as critical and picky as I can be this is the place for you. I won’t get my crabs ANYWHERE else. They are heavy, seasoned well, and always come out hot ?. Never have I ever been disappointed. Even if I happen to get a not so succulent crab or two (because nothing is perfect) I simply bring them back to the store and they will readily replace them. ? I’m always impressed with the customer service and efficient work they do to get everyone’s orders out, even on their busiest days. Which is why I make it easier on everyone and call ahead to let them know when I’ll be on my way! ? ? Not only am I gruntled with the customer service and crab quality I also take advantage of the weekly specials and prepped/hot food they have to offer. Especially in the fall I enjoy entertaining every Sunday for the Ravens games with my friends and family, and the weekend 3lb shrimp special is a must have for the food table ?. There is no doubt I could easily go on about my satisfaction I’ve had for years at Blue Point. They have been apart the community for a long time and being a local I love to see family owned businesses thriving in this small town. As long as I live here I’ll always get my seafood from Blue Point ??
First and last time here. I ordered 2 dozen female crabs on yesterday. My crabs had little to no crab season and more than half of them were "light/empty". The reviews about this place were deceiving.
I’ve been coming here for sometime now. The crabs here are always seasoned well. The pricing is affordable, they typically have a special going on. And most of the staff I’ve encountered are friendly. I will definitely keep coming back and referring people.
The crabs ? I purchased were huge, the actual place is esthetically pleasing to the eye, very clean; however I was extremely disappointed at the actual taste of the crabs. They were so bland, there was almost no seasoning and despite the large size and weight of the crabs, I did not enjoy them at all. I am a person who absolutely LOVES crabs ? ? , my former local crab house knew me and I knew them on a name basis ( Shout out to Crab Shack). I often visited other well know crab houses in Baltimore as well and have been pleased more times than not. I just moved close to the area and wanted to check out the local crab house(s) in the area. I decided to give blue point a try again because its been many years since I last did, and now I remember why.Sorry, I have to speak the truth, this is not a place for a real Crab connoisseur. The staff was friendly, and there are many other seafood options they offer, but I am pretty certain that I will not be purchasing crabs there ever again.
Whenever I travel to Owings Mills it is mandatory that I stop in to Blue Point Crab House on Reisterstown Road. An awesome crab pretzel or two must go home with me along with a few of those delicious stuffed shrimp.Since I live 75 miles away I order my items cold and packed for cooking at home. My only issue preventing 5 stars is that whenever I ask the staff about the best cook time and temp, no one ever knows. I guesstimate and they come out pretty good but it would be much appreciated if the staff could provide cooking instructions upon request for guests taking items to cook at home.
I tried the crab cakes because the reviews said they were good and I was completely disappointed. The filling was edible, but the outside tasted like burnt grease. I ended up throwing mine in the trash. My boyfriend could only eat his crab cake smothered in Tarter sauce( He was starving after work lol)
May 2022: So based on the mixed reviews I hesitantly tried the large crab cake sandwich…BIG mistake! It was almost spoiled ( and it tasted barely ? like crab. I thought Reuters tiny crab cake was bad- well despite being small it at least was crab in it easily detectable on the pallet. The people were nice but save yourself another waste of money- avoid crab cakes. I’m now convinced the only place that serves good crab cakes in West Baltimore County is Pikesplace in Pikesville on Riesterstown Road.Otherwise commute to: G&M or Timbaktue. Always good too.
First time here and I must say it was delicious. The staff was nice as well and they steamed and seasoned the crabs in no time lol. Will be back soon
I was pleasently surprised at how good their crabs were in the winter. Great menu & pleasant staff.
Messed up my food order. First with the price so had to run my card twice then i got home and onions were missing off my steam shrimp . Shrimp tasted fishy not fresh
