My better half and I stopped in for a bite to eat and a drink at the bar around 1 pm on 6/13 and ordered a 12 inch pizza. A young blonde woman arrived shortly after with it, of whom we asked for plates, napkins, etc.. Her response was "of course" and she disappeared for a few moments only to return with a pizza of her own which she promptly shared with another employee across the bar. Meanwhile we flagged down another employee and requested the same. This one provided plates, and quickly disappeared--no napkins... After recruiting a third employee to acquire the napkins, we were actually able to begin eating. The pizza was great, the service--not so much.
We were there on Monday May 30th 2022. The pizza had the flavor but it was definitely overcooked. Very crunchy crust and the pepperoni was half charred.We only get grottos once and year so we hope for the best. This time we were NOT that impressed. I am hoping for better luck next time.
Let me mind you I work in a pizza shop, never in my life have I served a slice of pizza looking like this. My fiancé touched The sauce,Which was dry and clearly was sitting out for hours and microwaved and my mother in law wife ended up vomiting all over the bathroom. My future mother in-law is allergic to tomato’s and lettuce and asked for her burger plain which my waitress came back with lettuce and tomato on her burger than watching her from my seat she wanted to just take the lettuce and tomato off and bring back the burger until another nice and wonderful waitress walked back and made sure she mad a whole new burger. That’s not even the best part you can clearly here our waitress talking rudely about us and complaining. My waitress is the one with heavy accident, rude attitude giving us Dirty looks. I give props to the other waitress destiny with wavy hair who so kindly checked on our table and made sure our orders were right and made sure that my mother in law food was remade. Also a nice cook gave us our menus and sat us down at a table. The manager McKenna was absolute amazing and understanding and we worked out the problem amazingly she handled the situation very well and professionally.
Me and my friends were here at 3:23 and our waitress was absolutely amazing.. her name started with a I with a very heavy Accent.. but the other waitress we saw was VERY RUDE! No team effort and was mean to our waitress for no reason!! And the entire time we were here the one girl with braids and brown hair was on her phone!! On the floor and at the counter!! Very unAcceptable.. we brought it up the manager and the manager was very very nice!! Thank you so much for the service from this place
The place was not busy, maybe 3 tables were full. We wanted a booth so we had ti wait for a booth to get cleaned. We mention and pointed to the table we wanted but she cleaned the one that was backed to 3 small toddlers. We had to wait longer for the lady to clean another table. I went to the toilet. 5 out of 6 toilets were unflushed/dirty. Floors were filthy in the toilet. Under our table was tons of crumbs and chips. I was cold so order coffee. They brought the coffee but no milk. Coffee mate and no half and half. I started ti drink it black and the coffee was good until I seen the inside of the cups. Dark streaks of stained coffee. I could not drink further. I asked for ice water. I got it but no straws. Because of civid I did not want to drink directly on the glass. Besides I'm wondering about the dishwasher because of the coffee cup stains. Pizza was good. We were mainly disappointed with the lack of cleanliness of the place.
Good pizza as always. Service was pretty good but Grotto, like many others, is suffering from a lack of staff. We tend to stop in when possible on trips anywhere near a Grotto and it's exciting that they've expanded out of Bethany to other areas in recent years.
Very good pizza and impressive dining area. I ordered by phone for pickup. Would recommend if you want good pizza.
Great food great service
Sometimes on vacation, you just need to eat in the a.c. and quickly, as we did this day after a full beach day. We ducked in here and had a rather good pizza in a clean, cool environment. I normally don't' like to eat pedestrian things like pizza when you are in a land of seafood, but I did enjoy it very much.
Their food is just as I remember from years ago. It was delicious and service quick and efficient they're awesome.
