One would think an establishment with “smokehouse” in its name would actually serve smoked meats. But alas, I ordered their brisket and my companion ordered pulled pork. Neither had any smoke flavor whatsoever. In fact, both were fairly tasteless. They give you a small cup of sauce (that contains maybe 2 tablespoons). The sides were good and prices are reasonable. Service was great. I would say stay away from the BBQ.
Aside from the utterly deplorable and depressing decor in this place (think Eastern Shore Correctional Institution mess hall) calling this place a "smokehouse" taxes the imagination beyond limits. The pulled pork is cooked (fortunately) but smoke flavor is AWOL. It was served let's say "naked" in that no sauce was applied during preparation. The result is an unqualified disaster. Serving a variety of optional house sauces (loaded with sugar of course) in tiny paper cups (think Arby's) does nothing to redeem the devastation. I can't wait to avoid this place permanently1
Heard good things about restaurant and wanted to try. Had the brisket sandwich. Expecting a hearty portion for $16 but was not the case. The cheese overpowered the sandwich and it appeared there was more brisket on one side of sandwich then other. Brought it to servers attention and her response was "I'll let the kitchen know". Upcharged $2 to substitute fries for chips. Server advised when ordering that I could choose any side without advising of upcharge. In fairness I looked at menu again and it did say extra for fries. A friend had ribs. He was disappointed with amount of fat. Much more then he's had at other places. Would not not be my top choice to return given all the choices in OC.
Service was good. Asked server what she liked. As she told me I was looking at the menu.... she up sold and said her favorites all were the most expensive things on the menu. I appreciate her leading us to the high end. Being a server, although I doubt they were all her favorites. We chose something on our own. We had ribs and crabcake sandwich. All was good. Service was good ,food was good. Nothing to rave about but I would definitely eat there again. Kudos ? server.
The food was so good. Real Maryland crab cake with jumbo lump in it. The brisket was great too. Had the coastal crack wings. Loved them. Zac was our server and he took great care of us we will definitely be back ??
Tried getting in here last year and it was packed. Now we know why. Great atmosphere. great menu, GREATER food. This place did not disappoint! I had a 12oz strip, wife had 12oz sirloin. Cooked to perfection! Fresh roasted asparagus and mashed potato's. The waiter ( his name I forgot was spot on and very nice. We waited for nothing and he smoked my Knob Creek Bourbon like a pro! If you come here you have to try the Chicken Liver appetizer. OMG sooooo Good!! Thanks Coastal, for a great dinner!!!
This place is amazing, the staff was very accommodating and pleasant. The food... holy $h*t off the charts amazing from appetizer to entree. If you like brussel sprouts definitely get the sticky bits you will not be disappointed. Steak was cooked perfect amazing collard greens. Everything was on point will definitely be coming back.
We have eaten here a couple of times. My favorite is the charcuterie board! Lots of cheese & meats. I normally get the pick three, which is perfect for me for lunch or dinner. My favorite drink is the Coastal Smash with Bourbon & cherries. My husband got the club sandwich with extra bacon. This was huge! He also really liked it & ate it all! The Bourbon cocktails are awesome, but... they are a bit pricey. With some of the most friendliness hostesses in WOC, this is truly a neighborhood bar! I highly recommend this place for a great cocktail & very good food! The bar seats also have backs & super comfy!The only reason they did not receive 5 stars, is that I'm not a fan of the wine list. I hope they improve it.... but it's not a wine establishment. Its a Bourbon establishment!
