We knew it would be bad when our wine was served in plastic glasses and had the smallest pour we were ever served. About 1-1/2” of wine in a small plastic glass. We mentioned this to the waiter and his response was “So?” Then our salad was served on a plastic plate! I ordered a pound of crab legs which had thin legs and had only a small amount of crab on them and was not hot. My wife ordered a steak cooked medium, and it came rare. When it was returned, it came back well done. The menu indicated if you wanted to order a side salad, there would be an additional charge of $2.50 but we were charged 7.00! Try Higgins…much better. Will never go back and strongly suggest you don’t either.
Excellent garlic shrimp and some of the best crab dip that I have ever had. There are a few different seating options. Bar, if adults, outside by the bay and inside. We ate inside. Although the drinks took a while because they were busy, the experience was great and the food was delicious.
Crab legs were delicious. Seafood pots were great. Ask what market price is if you are on a budget.. drinks were tasty.. We sat outside. Weather was beautiful.
Just wanted a place to sit on my phone and work. Outdoor, on the dock, beautiful weather. Crab Dip came with a pretzel bread loaf that was to die for.
Just had an amazing experience! Our oysters tasted amazing. We tried three different kinds: mad house , salt grass and summer side. They all tasted so good. I loved the mad house. They honestly weren’t shucked the best though, but still tasted great and came out quick. The spiced calamari was the best calamari I’ve ever had! The drinks tasted wonderful and were reasonably priced. We all had snow crab legs and they were so good!! So flavorful and a lot of meat in them, and served in cute little pots. Overall we had a great experience with the food and great service thanks to our server Heather. She was so sweet, kind, and accommodating to all our questions. It genuinely seemed like she wanted to serve us which meant a lot! Thanks for a great experience
So we get there just in time to beat the sky opening up. Once inside we walk into a conversation with the staff about the party of 5 ahead of us. We hear “she’ll be fine with them, she can handle it” It was then I was thinking I should leave, but I read all the good reviews and figured we’d give it a go. So the girl said to me “this section isn’t open yet (front entrance, plenty of people in the dining room) and told us to go outside and walk down to the end, they can seat you there.” Once we’re “out back” we dried off the best we could to be seated. Funny thing… once we’re seated we are right behind the podium where we first came in. You know, before it started raining and we were still dry. So anyway… I still have hopes for a nice anniversary dinner because of all the great reviews, but it only gets better. We order drinks, hers comes out but not mine. No big deal. We order our apps and entree’s. Apps come out. Really good. Entrees come out shortly after but not complete. Runner said he’ll get the balance of my plate but never returns. Waitress is MIA. Hers thankfully was complete. By the time the rest of my plate arrives what I had was cold and what arrives is barely warm. My guess is that my steak was good when it was hot, but I don’t really favor cold steak. I eat half and dice the rest up for my dogs; the love cold steak. All in all, never had a worse meal in OCMD. Giving them the benefit of the doubt, I’m writing it off as poor service and probably a miss from management. I know that finding help is tough and you kind of get what you get eating out anymore but to sit down and lay out $150+ for a meal for me and my girl, I was expecting more. Additionally, there was little to no effort from staff or management to make any of this catastrophe right. Very disappointed and would not recommend.
Hands down the best restaurant in OC!!!Wonderful view, great food (the crab dip and boom boom shrimp are musts), and excellent service!! Thank you Key for an excellent evening!
Delicious food, great outdoor seating. We sat in the sand by the bar. Music was great and the drinks were cold. There was no wait to get in and the service was fantastic. Our waitress even offered,and brought out, our kids food first.
Food and service are always fantastic! I highly recommend the jerk marinated calamari with coconut lime sauce! Very generous portion of calamari! The boom boom shrimp is great, but not very spicy. The flat iron pork with Jumbo shrimp is not only delicious, but a large portion of pork with 3 Jumbo shrimp and 2 sides! I get it almost every time! Highly recommend Blu! Sorry, no pics of food...I eat too fast! The view is amazing though!
Went for the mixed blue crab snow crab clusters pot and it was absolutely delicious. Lots of lemon and a ton of napkins later it was all gone. Worth it though it’s too much for a mere human; we shared with the fried green tomato scallops appetizer. Great service also. One complaint: The menus are photocopied and are hard to read, come on Blu, get some real menus. And the online menu is even worse, the most user unfriendly menu ever. How about one pdf of your entire menu WITH the prices?
