Nice decor. Good atmosphere. Went there for a birthday celebration. Security person at entry door has a scanner for weapons and ask if any bags coming in contain alcohol? The air outdoors is polluted. Smells like the sewer. Something wrong in that area that needs correction. The restaurant is fine! Thankfully does not affect the indoor atmosphere.
I absolutely HATE Coming here. It is the absolute worst service. Someone else needs to open up an African cuisine in Laurel. I was told 10-15 mins for my order it’s been over an hour. Why why is this? It’s unprofessional.
I wish I read the reviews before ordering here. I normally frequent another African restaurant here in laurel but I decided to try some place new (big mistake). I ordered jollof rice with goat and plantain. I went to pick up my order and overheard the owner arguing with someone in front of me about not having what they ordered which I thought was strange but shook it off. She then rudely tells me to come pay for my food. I decide to open my food when I see literally 2 slivers of goat and mostly rice. I told her I’m not paying for this, there’s no meat where she proceeds to argue with me about the price of goat and how goat is mostly bone and how there’s plenty in my plate. She then literally picks out the goat from my plate and tells me to just pay for the rice and plantain. Rudest woman ever. Do not eat here. I would give 0 stars if I could.
I love a place that have security first of all. Secondly, I loved that fact that it was spacious and not overly crowded. The food was pretty good as well. The absolute only complaint that I have is that the drinks were too small for the price. I think all of the drinks were served in the same size cup, maybe a 6oz cup. The cups were definitely smaller than what I am used too. I would return though, I enjoyed the atmosphere.
They are just so inconsistent with their food. This was my last time giving them a chance. I typically order roasted fish and plantains and the last 3 times I’ve given them a try there was something off about the food or my order. One time the fish was over cooked and very dry. The second time, they didn’t give me any pepper sauce. And this last time, the fish just wasn’t good (flavor and texture) and they gave me bad onions and a few raggedy plantains. Prices went up, but portion size went down, and the customer service is lacking big time. I’ve had long waits for my to go orders and it’s just annoying to wait and then the food not be good.
I order okra soup with fufu & instead they give me okra mix with what look like spinach & something else. Also the meet look like Intestines. What the fufu was wrapped in smelled like fresh fish. Seeing that I’m pregnant, I threw up after taking one bite of it. I’m never ordered from this place again! I’m really disappointed cause I was actually looking forward to this.
Had an awesome time here for my birthday. Very nice ambiance, great music and food was amazing. Awesome customer service. Thanks to Yancy for my very spacious VIP section and his awesome hospitality. I truly enjoyed myself and so did all my guests. I will definitely be back?? ?
Worst customer service ever. When we enter, no one acknowledged us. We walked to ask the waitress how we can get service, she told us to order, wait for the food/drink and sit where we want. We waited 20mn standing, she was so unprofessional, she was laughing and joking around with some men and was really loud. She did not even look at us. We asked her again if she can serve us, she said to wait. We ended up walking out without an apology or anybody even talking to us. Please do yourself a favor and do not waste your time and money at this restaurant.
One particular bartender is the absolute WORST!!!! I waited about an hour for a drink AND foodafter pre paying for it while several people who came after me got their much larger ordered. No an apology or recognition nada! And it wasn’t even packed when this first occurred. She ignored my sister and I for more than 30 minutes. 0 stars
Very bad customer service. I called in to order some food. The first time I called to order, they mentioned the wait time was an hour. My boyfriend and I were not sure we could wait an hour since we were on the road (we don’t live in the area). So, we stopped the order to talk about it and see if we could find something to do in order to be productive in the hour we had to wait for the food before deciding to order. When we got things sorted out and called back, the lady was very rude and rejected our order saying she decided not to take the order anymore since we canceled it the first time. She blatantly rejected the order. Who does that? I thought businesses were supposed to ensure customer satisfaction? Especially restaurants! I’m very disappointed. Then tomorrow, I’ll hear people saying “support your own” when “your own” does not care about their customers. SAD!
