Great soul food. The take on deviled eggs was delicious. If spicy isn’t your thing, you may want to get the jerk sauce on the side though. The fried shrimp with hot honey and lemon pepper sauce was great. You may want to get the sauce on the side if you like your shrimp to stay crispy. The salmon is great too!
The food was immaculate! I thought I saw my maker at one point, that’s how good it is! Everything felt like it was made of equal parts suga and spice. The service here was amazing, staff is friendly and helpful. 10/10 highly recommend. If you ever find yourself down that way you should definitely stop by.
We ordered the oxtail with rice and peas and mac and cheese and lemon peppered shrimp with honey drizzle with rice and peas and mac and cheese, and strawberry lemonade. Although its more a carryout there are tables to seat down and eat. It took 15 minutes to get our food. We decided to eat there. Food was luke warm but delicious. The strawberry lemonade tasted liked powder kool-aid but i like kool aid. Highly recommend!!!
It took me 30mins to place my order, pick it up and start eating it. THAT’s FAST!! I ordered Hot Honey Salmon, Curry Cabbage, Mac & Cheese for pick up. The sauce on the Salmon was BUSSING! Cheesy good Mac & cheese & good curry cabbage(1st time tasting curry in cabbage).
The food was good.Ordered the Rasta Pasta and the bread pudding cost a little under $40 which was shocking. Want to go back to try one more item.
The staff was really friendly! The Crab Fries!!! GET THEM! The stuffed salmon was just a little over done, but still had great flavor. If nothing else, try the Crab Fries. They are a meal eaten alone. If you found this review helpful, please "like" it.
My first visit and I must say the service was excellent, the staff was friendly and helpful, the environment was very clean and the food was certainly delicious!! We had the deep fried lobster w/eggs and cheese, potatoes and grits, hot honey wings, jerk deviled eggs w/fried shrimp and the hot honey fried shrimp. Sorry but these are the only pics I was able to take. Bomb!
So I have the oxtail slider and the salmon the suga &spice is definitely the best sauce. Just the right about suga and spice. The only thing is that this wasn't a seat down restaurant. So your food comes in a take out box, and if there is an open seat, then you can eat in. Also, they do need a spot for pick up because either they hand to in btw people order their food or by the people at the bar area. The cakes and the banana pudding could use a little bit more taste test before you put it out there. Was hitting at all. But the staff was fun to talk to. We can from jersey so it was worth the drive for the food.
Our meal was hot and flavorful and the drinks were great. It’s sad that I can’t say the same about the deserts. For around $9.00 each we ordered two slices of cake. We receive two really really really thin slices of cake. The slice of cake was so thin, one of the cake turned over inside of the container while we were transporting it and it was in pieces. I do not recommend, anyone to purchase any slices of cake from Suga & Spice. The staff was helpful and friendly. A limited amount of meters street parking is available in the front of the restaurant and a limited amount of free parking is available in the rear parking lot.
Do not go here go ! Their management is terrible and confrontational! They don’t care if you don’t like their food ! They only serve a handful of items their corn muffins are 7 dollars wait you only get one! Their crab cake was burnt u can guess what picture it is below! When I brought the my food back they asked me what it was ! I said I don’t know you tell me ! Y’all cooked it ! Their bread pudding was burnt I order over 200 dollars worth of food and not one person liked their meal ! Yes I got upset because I spent my hard earned money to get fake crab burnt crab cakes , undercooked soupy grits ! The cooks are not Caribbean they are Hispanic . I think they don’t understand Caribbean flavors . Or don’t care . Not to mention when I tried to reach the owners their managers said that I was harassing them ! Also a cook dishwasher don’t know who the guy was but not management approached me and started a confrontation! If you don’t want to get sick or go to jail stay away ! Go to Timbuktu even redlobster jerkpit !
