TLDR: The last traditional dim sum spot in Baltimore (RIP Chopstix Rosedale). Tasty and reasonably priced Dim sum! Make sure to order many plates of the roasted duck.Vibe: 3/5. Located in a strip mall right off 175, Mai Dim Sum has 2 signs (Mai Dim Sum and Mai Dragon) adorning the same restaurant which can be a little confusing. For clarification, you enter through the Mai Dragon side of the restaurant. There are several large circular tables perfect for larger groups as well as your standard 2-4 tops for smaller. Interior décor is that of your standard dim sum restaurant, clean, functional and nothing to write home about.Service: 5/5. Since the pandemic, Mai Dim Sum has done away with the push cart service and has went to a regular menu ordering system. You are given the dim sum menu (which has pictures), you then order with the server and then they mark off your items on the traditional dim sum bill card which you use to check out when you're done. This system is honestly way more efficient than push cart service since you can order all your food at once as well as not having to wait for specific carts to make it to your table. Yes, it does take some of the novelty out of the dining experience, but the fresh hot food right from the kitchen makes up for it. We arrived on a Saturday around 1:30pm and were seated immediately with our orders taken not long after. As mentioned above, all the food came out all at once, piping hot. The waitstaff was great at clearing empty steam baskets, grabbing us more chili oil when needed and punctual with the bill when we were finished.Food: 5/5. We ordered almost the entire dim sum menu and loved everything. All the dim sum staples are here and are executed well (ie. ha cheung, shu mai, har gao, sticky rice, taro puffs, char siu bao)! However, Mai Dim Sum took our breath away with the $8 plate of roasted peking duck that they offer. Generous portion of perfectly roasted duck with crispy skin definitely took best in show. It rivals that of ducks I have had in Chinatown Flushing NYC and of Peking Gourmet in NOVA. All in all, very happy with our dim sum experience at Mai and look forward to coming again!

Ordered around 12:50 and arrived at about 30 minutes later. It was packed so we have them ample time. After about 10 minutes of waiting inside we were told to leave our number and it would be ready in 25 minutes. So we left our number and after 40 minutes there was still no call. So we came back and 2 orders were no longer available and we had to wait another 10 minutes for an order. Instead of waiting we just took the food that was ready and left. And to top it off the food want even warm. Happy Easter!

A OK Dim sum place, Lovely service, but nothing too specialAlso should be more prepared for lunch orders since they ran out of baked goods ??

We came at 5pm and didn’t realize that the dim sum was only lunch BUT the food was amazing and the waiter was extremely nice and helpful. They even made a special order item for me that I have missed since I lived in China.

So happy to find Cantonese food near Baltimore! I ordered to-go — pan fried tofu, salt & pepper squid, snow pea leaves vegetable — and the food was great! Definitely will be back.

I have been here many times. Brought friends and family as well. We love the weekend Dim Sum! Price is reasonable and the food delicious. We spend about $20-30 per person when we come for dimsum, and it is the best around! If you have never had dimsum, make sure you come with someone that's familiar! Enjoy!

Came and ordered a spicy salmon roll and beef egg rolls. Tell me why the spicy salmon roll had specs of “salmon” in it? You couldn’t even taste the salmon. Then the beef egg rolls had “specs” of beef in it. Like it might as well been a veggie egg roll. The waiter was friendly but the food was horrible! Definitely don’t see why this place has a 4 star rating. Will not be back.

I have been to this place so many times for dinner with my family, which always turn out great. However, today when my girlfriends and I decided to try Dim sum at this place, everything turns out so badly. As you can see on the receipt, it shows the order time is 12:47 and now it’s like 1:51 and we only got like 5 dishes of our order. Staffs are so rude, no one even bothers to come and address the waiting time. Finally I addressed the issue and the young man came to us and said one of our orders is out, but the server has been back 3 times to the table, at-least said something to us so we get informed. I don’t know, but this is disappointed to us.

Wow, what a fabulous dim sum restaurant!!! My family and I were traveling through Baltimore and stopped here for lunch based solely upon Google Map search for dim sum restaurants, online pictures, and review comments. To previous reviewers, thanks for your comments and recommendations - you are right this IS fabulous and I will send others to this wonderful restaurant. Dim sum is hunan-style, with Hong Kong and Japanese influences - really great!

We had lunch with friends at Mai Dragon. They have an extensive Dim Sum menu, and everything was delicious! The service was very quick. The jasmine tea was good. We would go back next time we are in the mood for Dim Sum.
