Needed a new source for crab cakes with out of town guests arriving. Followed a recommendation for Romano's and were delighted. The crab cakes were large and full of good lump crabmeat. The Maryland crab soup was richly flavored and loved the crab dip. They only gave a section of a baguette to go with the crab dip which was definitely not enough but the dip was creamy and tasty. Happy to have found a new source to enjoy and share with our guests.
Ambience is relaxing but very dated. We sat in the bar due to a large and verynloud group in the main restaurant. The bartender was friendly. They were pretty busy and the wait staff of one person was overwhelmed. The serving sizes are huge so you get your money's worth. The food was decent. I had a seafood platter that was okay. It came with a side of pasta. The marinara sauce needed some seasoning.
I had Romanos for the first time as an carryout order for mothers day yesterday. Let's just say I will be back. I would've rated it 5 stars but my only disappointment not really a complaint was that I asked for my steak to be medium and I got well done. But the flavors was definitely there and the crab cake was more then what I expected. I normally go to another restaurant for my steak and crab cake combo entrée but after trying Romanos yesterday and from the customer service when placing my order on what I know was a busy and hectic day for them down to eating my food I think I will be replacing my go to restaurant for here from now on. It is definitely a place to visit.
I was greatly disappointed on my last two visit to this restaurant. before covid I fell in love with the crab cakes here. however, during my last two visit I ordered the crab cake platter. the cost had gone up but i didn't care because I loved the flavor, size, and consistency of the crab cakes. On last week, I went to eat with my husband for his birthday and ALL of the food was horrible. Our table ordered Chicken Salad, Flounder Platter, Rheuben, and Crab Cakes. All of it looked and tasted like hospital cafeteria food. The Rheuben had not meet on it, the Flounder was thin and without real fish, the chicken on the chicken salad was chewy and id not taste real, and my crab cakes were mostly breading. I will not return and I would not advise anyone else to eat here either. Worst experience ever.
G& M gets all the credit for their crab cakes and food in general but Romanos is better. I have no idea why diners are not waiting out the door. I have never had anything that I didn't like and ALL of the seafood is exceptionally delicious.
Only 2 stars because my crabcake tasted nothing like I remember. This used to be one of my favorite places in Maryland for lump crabcakes. Maybe it was the chef...not sure. Our waiter was very nice but sadly, I didn't enjoy my food at all. Looked better than it tasted.
It has been awhile since I ate here. Used to love it, even sang karaoke here a long time ago. We were seated right away which was nice considering the place was empty. I looked at the menu and they took all the good stuff off of it. So nothing I ate was even something I really wanted because the menu didn't have much of a selection. Our server took about 15 minutes (she has brown hair I wish I could remember her name cause she sucked) didn't even ask us if we wanted drinks and she was rude the whole time. The only time she came to our table was to ask us what we wanted to eat and bring our food. I hope they bring back their good dishes!! Calamari was unbelievably chewy I almost choked. The crab dip tasted like cream cheese with a sprinkle of old bay. Their gyro platter is not even a gyro. It's gyro meat thrown on a plate with a salad and the tzakiki sauce was on the side in a bowl...build your own gyro? With small pita bites. I was confused. One star and only because I had to rate to leave a review.
No one in Baltimore can come close to the great food this place gives you. The crab cakes are off the charts, I have been coming here a lot of years and with the economy going the way its been going Romano's still give's you the best service and do not cut back on their portions of food. They should be a 10 Star restaurant. Keep up the great work Romano's. If anyone wants great food come here. Goodie of Owings mills MD.
Crab cake is made with nothing but filler. My waitress was very negligent.Because she was in such a rush I couldn’t even ask for ketchup for my French fries.Spent over $150.00 in here tonight.Baked potato wasn’t baked at all. It was hard to spread the sour cream on because it wasn’t fully cooked.I had to ask someone to sweep under the table before we were seated. I mean. Cmon people.
The butterfly fried shrimp were absolutely wonderful. They have really good food here. I've had several different items off of the menu. I have enjoyed every single one of them The broiled seafood platter is absolutely incredible. That one is my favorite. Try to get in there if you can. You will love it
