I can't believe I've lived near Sakura for over 20 years and only have visited recently. My family was blown away with just how delicious everything was. We enjoyed chicken, seafood and steak and were very pleased. The cooking presentation was captivating. Pricey for sure but there was plenty of food and well worth it!
Fun time with the family. Ambience is great, food is good, and it is a great time.
We dined-in on the weekend before Valentine around lunch time and it took an hour before the food actually came out. I think it was mainly because they were waiting for the table to fill up with more people. The food was good, the show entertaining, and the staff was attentive. If you plan to go there hungry, order a sushi or something not teppanyaki while you wait.
Let me start by saying that the pandemic has hit everyone hard, I understand that. However let me also say that I am extremely disappointed with front staff/management and pricing. We frequent this place a few times a year, not during the pandemic mind you. This was our first outing as a family in a while. Not only have they cut there hours of operation down, the pricing has doubled. Also are now charging a pre determined amount of gratuity for party of 5, which if you get lumped together with another party to fill the table well guess what. Here is my issue, it's not the 18% gratuity that I have an issue with it's the wrong calculation of said gratuity. Gratuity is based on the subtotal of your meal, not subtotal plus tax. Your paying on average 1% extra for what???? this doesn't go to the staff it goes to the house and given how rude and snippy the Hostess/Manager I absolutely don't agree. It's a shame really because we really enjoyed going to this restaurant, but that's done now, we will find a new place.
It is our first visit, we found it to be a very good place, excellent service, all the people who work there form a great team and the food is delicious. 100% recommended.
This is an awesome space and high end food in Germantown! Entertaining and fun environment for the whole family. Particularly impressed with how they've maintained good service with brutal staffing issues during COVID.Give it a try! You won't be sorry
We really like this place and have come here many times. The hibatchi has always been great and the cooks are so fun! My family from out of the country really enjoys it as well every time they come to visit. It's not only a delicious dinner but also a fun activity at the same time!
Food is cooked before your eyes in your table itself. Wonderful and yummy.
I know this place for years and use to be one of my favorite spots on Germantown until yesterday.on Dec 24/2021 I show up with my family (party of 6) around 4:10pm no reservation.First of all they have a Covid mobile container testing lab right in front ( no more then 50ft away) so parking situation is an awful nightmare, spend more than 35 five mins just to park before we came in to the restaurant, (considering that many of the parking spaces were empty) however due to the improvised LONGGGGG drive thr ,disorganized lines and congestion from people going to get test.After this we went inside the hostess inquire about a reservation, I told her we didn't have any and she reply that was ok and not a problem because was early for dinner (most of the tables were empty ).however when we got to the table I asked her that we would like to move our elders in front of the U shapeTable to join the great show from the hard working chef's at this place, and then i was informed by her that if I want to use the other seats available at the table I have to pay $ 20 for each additional seat on the table basically another $80.00 for the other 4 remaining if I want the table for my family and myself, I honestly got caught by surprise, sad and upset at the same time to see the poor management on this place,When I asked her how come she said that's the policy of the place and besides they were full of reservation for Christmas eve. (Shocking answer)I always loved sharing the table with other people that's one of the things that made this place cozy, fun, and unique, but with the situation now I prefer to be a bit more cautious with my elders, (that's why the reason I prefer our table just for ourselves), however as a customer I dont think he have to overpay for minimal good service ( we already pay 18 % and up for service).Albert G
This place deserves better as the chefs are fun and the food is tasty the hostess at the front had a terrible attitude and rather argue on the phone with whomever than assist. My cousin had a broken leg and she refuse to let her sit even though the place was empty and her dad was only parking as we had to drop her in front. From there the service only got worse. But the chefs were fun and meal was ok. They probably should consider getting a hostess that cares and wait staff with less attitude. I understand its tough but we are still paying customers and deserve a little better treatment.
