New Village has been in this location for years. Besides the Americanized Chinese food, they also serve authentic Hong Kong style Cantonese food. The dishes are great in this restaurant and the staff are very friendly.
If I could give a negative, I would. Extremely rude front desk woman. Ordered over the phone, and I repeated my order because I was not sure if the woman taking the order understood me since I was asking for items on the side. I ended the order by saying "just one". She hung up the phone, did not tell me wait time or anything else. I went to pick up the order, and she had 2 items that were completely different. I politely said I only ordered one, and she started yelling at me saying I ordered two. I apologized, said it's ok, that there must have been some miscommunication, but that I only wanted my one order. She continued to yell at me, saying that I ordered two items as she redid the bill. After being yelled and muttered at nonstop, I decided to leave without taking the food, and did calmly say that I did not appreciate being spoken to that way. I used to come here often, but never again. I have never been treated so poorly at a restaurant before. Do not go, and instead give business to a place that actually treats people with respect.
We wanted to take a friend out for dinner in his neighborhood and came across this neighborhood eatery. Wasn't sure if it was going to be an authentic restaurant after seeing some mixed reviews but we were glad that we gave it a try.We made reservations for party of 5 and they were very accommodating as we only called in one hour before our appointed time. The menu looked like it had a mix of Chinese American and also Cantonese cuisine. The servers spoke Mandarin as well as Cantonese dialect.I could tell that their chef is Cantonese as the flavors were very clean not salty. We ordered the crispy roast pork, sweet and sour HK ribs, Deep fried flounder, seafood and tofu hot pot, seafood cantonese noodles, as well as string beans stirfried with beef. Everything tasted delicious and the right amount of seasoning. It was so good that we decided to go back for more roasted meats the next day on our way to the airport. We bought two bento boxes - roasted pork, bbq pork and soy sauce chicken with rice and veggies. One box was enough to feed two of us.Prices were very reasonable for the amount of food. Great neighborhood eatery!
Food is ok. Super rude folks at front desk. Let's put it this way, Given a choice between a hot pockets dinner and a take out from this place, I would rather suffer burns from a hot pockets than entering this establishment where they have take pride of yelling at the customer in their local language.
Authentic Cantonese cuisine at it's best. Hong Kong taste. Come and experience. 5 tasty stars.
I ordered take out roasted pork and chicken with roasted pork lunch boxes, guess what, all roasted pork came with FAT, ONLY 1% is meat, it’s totally ridiculous. I do not recommend my friends order from them.
very delicious authentic cantonese food. service is good. always order from them never disappointed
The food and service are always good here. We just tried it again after about 2 years when we got back to the area. The food is as good as we remembered. The taro duck is my husband's favorite. It is very delicious. The french style filet mignon is pretty good too. We shared a platter with siu yuk and soy sauce chicken. The skin on the siu yuk was great. We had their steamed Chilean Sea Bass as well. This was my favorite dish. The roast duck is quite expensive here, but it is always satisfying. The inside is decorated nicely and is kept pretty clean. They weren't very busy when we came on a Saturday for lunch. No wait and lots of open tables. The tables that were seated were spaced out (i assume on purpose for Covid). This is without a doubt the best Chinese restaurant in Germantown. I would highly recommend it if you're looking for a nice sit-down Chinese meal.
Service was quick/good but I ordered the roasted duck with rice and the duck was a lot of bone and gristle, just not a lot of meat not hot and the taste was not appealing
The Chinese dishes are the best, most flavorful in ALL, yes, ALL of Montgomery County. The kitchen and the servers are both fast. Order takers and checkout cashiers are aggressive to the point of being nasty unfriendly. We can overlook everything because the dishes are really top quality and beautifully prepared. Repeat, both the kitchen and servers are quick and efficient. Hot sour soup is very tasty.
