We’ve eaten at Happy Uncle for years. When the food is on point, it’s delicious (the best!) When it’s not, it’s just not tasty at all. We had Szechuan beef tonight and it wasn’t tasty at all. Beef looked pale, fried rice tasted like it was leftover from another day. The egg rolls were fine. Very inconsistent from visit to visit.
best lo mein i've ever had. superb fried dumplings. excellent spring rolls. perfect wontons. great pricing. i get food here at least once a week.
I've never found hot and sour soup like this anywhere else in the country, and I promise I've tried. Also, their chicken fried rice is spectacular.

Best Chinese restaurant in the Germantown and even Gaithersburg area. My Favorite ? are the Salty and spicy shrimp ? shell on are everything!!! Their spicy garlic beef and the fried rice so so good. Everything you want in a delicious Chinese restaurant. Best thing of all my guy Rudy is the waiter and he’s is on top of everything clean and great service…
I am extremely sad and disappointed at this establishment. My son who has autism came in to Happy Uncle with his Direct Support Technician Wednesday night to order take out. His technician is teaching him life skills and one of the things my son loves to do is eat at restaurants. He was learning how to order food and communicate with a business. Unfortunately, Happy Uncle does not treat people with disabilities with respect. I was told by his Technician that the person who took my son's order was very impatient with my son. He looked annoyed and did hand gestures as if he was rushing him. He also snatched my son's money out of his hands when my he paid. When the food was ready, my son took his bag and asked for utensils. The staff pointed to where the utensils were and yelled at my son, "It's over there!" My son is a human being and a paying costumer. He should have been treated with respect courtesy. I do not recommend this restaurant and will never come to eat here ever.
Food was nasty and ended up giving me food poisoning .. One egg roll, and a order of beef and broccoli with white rice.
I've been coming here for several years since Old Shanghai in Milestone closed. My family has also had food delivered many times. It has become my go-to spot for Chinese in Germantown. The waiter, Rudy(seems like he may be the only waiter) , is super nice and attentive. I've never seen bug here as another review says. If I did, I'd never come back. They have some of the best Hot and Sour soup I've ever had. If you like spicy, Try the Pork with spicy peppers. it's delicious. It seems like this might be a good low carb option.
