100 percent Vegetarian Restaurant in Gaithersburg, Maryland. Authentic Indian Mumbai style food. The restaurant is in Business for more than 25 years now. Their menu has a large selection of dishes, South, North Indian dishes. The owner personally supervises and Customer service is excellent. I have known the Restaurant manager for 20 years. Food quality is fresh and excellant. The service is quick. I went with my family and we enjoyed tasty Bhelpuri, North Indian specialty's and different ice cream, especially the Rose one. There is ample parking. I recommend this restaurant.
First visit to this Vegetarian (Indian) restaurant. The overall experience was quite good. Extensive menu. Great, attentive wait-staff. CLEAN, all-around. All staff were fully masked. The restaurant felt CLEAN. Very nice decor / ambience. Will definately revisit, along with guests.
Went to this place for dinner on weekend. The wait time was about 15-20 mins. This place has a nice ambience with large seating capacity. The taste of the food is ok. Chutney and curry served for the tiffins and poori is very less and had to request multiple times. Curry served for poori bhaji is less when asked for extra curry for the seperate order the staff replied they dont have options for ordering extra curry and had to order a complete new order which is strange and rude. Management is not so good and friendly
The authenticity of the food is amazing. I ordered a thali, and the portions for the thali were very filling. The food is very good, and the atmosphere is very good . a good dining experience.
Dang people why yall rate this place so low, tisk tisk tisk! It's a southern Indian restaurant, so they're pros at the dosa, idli, and utapa. The payasam, paper dosa, palak chat, dahi vada, chole bhature, and thali were also bomb. I've eaten there about 6 times now and they're 1 of my new favorite Indian restaurants. One week, I ended up eating there twice. I always try something new and they never disappoint...well.. Only thing I did not like is the gajar halva...it tasted like it came out of a box from the freezer section of Patel Brothers.
When Woodlands started in Gaithersburg, was super excited. Expectations were high because of the reputation of the other branch. Initial reviews were not great, but decided to give it a try. Interiors are decent, although seating is pretty close to each other. Went on a Saturday evening and as expected place was crowded. We didn't have much time in hand, so ordered something quick. Started with Medu vada. It came with sambar, coconut chutney and red chutney. Vada was crispy and looked freshly made, but was bit bland. Sambar and chutneys are decent. We also ordered Mysore plain and Mysore masala Dosa. Was expecting a spicy/ tangy chutney inside the dosa, but again it was bland. Ended our dinner with Mysore coffee. For a person who is a south Indian and spent considerable amount of time in Karnataka, my dinner was a let down. We definitely want to try out the rest of the menu. Will update this post after that.
We took some friends out for Dinner at Woodland in Gaitherburg, MD. We were all very pleased with such a great Dinner! Dosa were very crispy and delicious with yummy Sambar and chutney! We also had such a huge Bhatura with delicious Cholley! Staff was great and following COVID guideline! Over all excellent experience! We will go again.
Woodlands is one of the Best South Indian restaurant around DMV. It’s my go to place for a delicious South Indian meal. It always reminds me of home food. They have the best of best food menu and few of my favorites to mention - Idli Vada, Chole Batura, Gobi 65, Vegetarian cutlet and North/ South Indian Thali’s.My kids enjoy coming here and most of items on the menu are kid friendly. My son never forgets to get some lassi and Kulfi for dessert. I never end my meal without ordering my favorite Falooda. All in all this restaurant has everything you need especially if your visiting with family. The ambiance, Service and food 10/10!!!
Great Indian Restaurant!!! Food was delicious, service was top notch, and management went above and beyond to ensure we enjoyed our meal.I've been twice, and both times had similar positive experiences. The food was some of the best. The flavors were so good. Plus it's all vegetarian! I can't say enough about this place. We will definitely be going back and ordering for pick-up.
