I liked it. It was ok. The skewers meat texture was like flakey which was Odd. But the sauce on the side was good. The noodles was the party favorite dish we did not have any left. Food pick up time was done on time. Friendly staffing. Total was a little over 200. (Fries were not part of this order) I would change out the fried rice for something else next time.
Tiny restaurant, sits around 20 people. Lots of people who ordered take out. Lunch specials starting around $11. I tried the Massamun Curry with chicken and it was fantastic. You get a ton of tender chicken. Next time I probably will ask if I can get 1/2 chicken, 1/2 vegetables. The miso soup was light and perfect for the cold rainy day.
If I could give 0 stars I would. Today I placed an order at the restaurant, I specified I wanted to dine in and a lady spoke in Thai and then said “why dine in no eat here” needless to say I said I would like to order it to go. Horrible customer service. Please don’t ever go here!! Mid food and you get treated like you’re a bother for them.
I have been going to Thai Express in Kentlands since 2015, never had ANY issues, until today, when they not only got my order wrong, they changed their policy to charge customers for the spice ( Which is free if you dine-in ) explanation was: the container is so expensive that we have to charge the customers 75c for each spice. OS even though i paid for the spice, not all spices were there. The quality and the taste of food was also, so bad that my family ended up eating at Sabai Sabai Simply Thai. Same price but great service and very tasteful food. I am really sad to see Thai Express deteriorating, but like all good things come to an end. i am moving my business elsewhere. For a family of 4 the bill always was around $80 which is ok, but at least I deserve a little smile and service. It seems the people working at Thai Express are not the excellent people i got used to over the years. Sad Sad Sad....
Staff members are nice but the food is way too sweet! Why do they feel the need to put so much sugar in their food? Most health conscience people will stop or eventual stop ordering from this restaurant because they put too much sugar their cook.
WeWe've been customers of Thai Express for the past 6 years or so. We really loved the food and ordered often, but had noticed a noticable shift towards a decrease in the quantity a few years ago (pre-pandemic). We still order take out but less frequently. My husband swears by their egglant dishes, they are so good. The staff have always been very pleasant and we still given them our business.
Rude staff. Ordered food here for lunch. They were open for dining in. They placed my order for carry out without asking me. I asked for a plate and they would not give me a plate for eating in the restaurant. He said I ordered carry out and I told him I had not done so and even had left them a tip in the credit card. Last time I come to this place. Food is ok but much better Thai places in the area. Asking for a plate when they clearly made a mistake on the order is not much to ask.
This place is pretty good. I eat a lot of Thai food and love Thai food and I enjoyed my meal from here, but the quality is noticeably lower than other Thai restaurants. I tried this restaurant for the first time because I always see them online and their prices are lower than other places. But the quality is slightly worse too, in my opinion. Other Thai places are better in terms of quality of meat and materials used in the dish, and also flavor. But this place definitely has best value/prices and portion.
Been coming here for years for that stealthy trip home with Thai food. Great food, reasonable prices!
