You get what you pay for. There is a reason they make you pay first. I'm sure many have walked out. To start, I asked for sweet tea. Waitress brought me Raspberry tea without even telling me it wasn't sweet tea. My wife is highly allergic to Raspberries. If that had happened to her they would have killed her. I tell the waitress I asked for sweet. She says OK and then brings me unsweet with sugar packets. So I had to send her back to get a soda. Maybe you just say "sorry no sweet tea." Buffet was more American fast food items than Asian Cuisines. Everything was clearly reheated. The Hibachi cook let me stand there with my plate while he showed a friend how to use chop sticks. Then didn't put any sauce on my food despite asking me what sauce I wanted. I am quite sure that place is serving old food on the buffet. I only gave 1 star because I had too.
This shopping plaza used to house the Old Country Buffet which I had thoroughly enjoyed going to. That long since closed and I was excited when coming back to town Lu Buffet became part of the plaza. The only smile received was from the cashier. Nobody smiled. The whole staff on the floor were rushing. I was asked by one server what soda did I want before I was seated. Was there tea? I don't know. I was caught off by the quick question, and lack of smile. I replied Sprite and proceeded to the buffet. Back at the table, the Sprite wasn't served. About 15 minutes, I asked again. It took about 5 minutes to receive it. When the server brought it, it was hurriedly placed on my table with no smile. At the buffet, the meats at the carving station look like they had been sitting under the lamps for awhile, they were in large chunks, and there was nobody there to carve and serve. Two of the three stations at the back of the buffet, the Pho and the other station next to the Sushi, had an attendant at each. But nobody was there for them to serve, they were idle, and once again, no smiles. I think one of them could have been at the carving station? All of the food I chose tasted delicious, but the presentations at the buffet didn't look appealing. Much of the food looked to be highly oiled, sauced, fried, or buttered. Recommendations: Please smile and be excited to serve your customers. If you're understaffed, try to fix that to make the work manageable and pleasant for your staff. Pay attention to the presentation of the food at the buffet. When offering a beverage, state the choices, "What would you like? Tea, coffee, soda?" These can all contribute to creating a desire for people to want to come back for more. I didn't have that feeling when I finished my meal and left.
This place is the best value for dine in within a hundred mile radius of DC. I go here regularly. The staff is friendly, and the selection is great...hot food bar, sushi, pho, hibachi, dessert, and drink comes with it. I read some of the negative reviews, and those people are crack-heads(no offense to the crack-heads). Three adults stuffed to the gills, and tip included comes to $60. The only thing I don't like are the buckets of utensils near the soup and salad bar that could be a little cleaner. This is not a 5 star Michelin place, but very satisfying and a great value for the price-I highly recommend it.
I totally love this place but today the food was just not it, we arrived to the restaurant at 8:20pm and almost all of the food was gone and they did not bother to replace it as they close at 9:30pm. I get it they are attempting to minimize the waste but we still paid full price for not the best quality of food. The restaurant was pretty full when we came in so I’m not sure why they did not bother to place some more food. For cuter reference don’t go in at the last minute because you will regret it.
The food is always fresh and plentiful. There are so many options including meat, vegetables, seafood, salad, hibachi, sushi, 4 soup varieties, desserts, and ice cream. This place is truly a buffet as advertised.
I enjoyed the food it's fresh and that really matters!! It's for the most part clean compared to hibachi but lacks a slight variety the alot of waitresses are rude and lack good customer service but I enjoyed it and have gone several times already the only very polite person is the cashier and a couple 2 or maybe 3 waitresses . Thanks
Decent selection, of different origins of food. But a fairly small buffet. Most of the food wasn't really hot. More like Luke warm would be my only complaint
Small buffet with limited selection for dinner. The food was not hot and lacked flavor. The waitress was hovering over us and reached over us as we we ate to remove an old dish. We left our tip when we paid with credit card in the beginning and as we were leaving the waitress repeated pointed to the tip tray and followed us outside as I repeated told her we left a tip up front. Would not come again and do not recommend.
I will never return to this place! The staff are extremely rude and nasty for no reason. The food was okay nothing to brag about. My first and last time spending my hard earned money at this "Buffet". The woman at the counter got mad because she didn't understand what I said and when I went back to address the issue she gave me a nasty attitude. Talk about lack of professionalism.
Great food and customer service. Prices are a little on the high end, however worth it. I highly recommend it??
