Amazing Mexican restaurant in Rio. They have plenty of tables in both indoor and outdoor. This place is always packed even during the weekdays, but rightfully so. I usually order chicken enchiladas, steak fajitas, and quesadillas. All dishes were pretty good and good portion size. Guacamole was really fresh and chips and salsa were delicious. But I highly recommend getting their loco mango margarita. It’s the best drink! So refreshing especially during the hot summer days. The service was not that bad considering how busy this place was, but definitely have a room for improvements. Quick walk around the Rio waterfront is also plus! If you are planning to visit Rio, I highly recommend getting some food here!
We came on a Friday evening and the place was really busy so it took a little while for us to be seated. Everyone seemed to be really enjoying themselves and the staff were engaging very well. We badly over ordered but the food was very good. I last reviewed Guapos about three years ago and looking back at that review I was critical of the service then. This time however I was really impressed with the service and our waiter, Modesto, was excellent. Possibly a little on the expensive side but there were 7 of us.
Amazing views and great service by the staff. I loved this Tex-Mex place in my first sight. The food here is very tasty and most importantly -- the servers describe food perfectly as it is going to be, no sugar-coated descriptions, which I honestly liked. There is too much rush here on weekends, but that only describes why this restaurant is doing great.Highly recommend this place!
Great place to go on the weekend! I went with a friend on a Saturday around 2pm. Patio seating was a 35 min wait, but was seated inside immediately (no wait). Service was great with the extra help with the assistance. I didn’t have to ask for a refill. There was three birthday parties so it got loud. When we leaving there was a good amount of people waiting. So we missed the late afternoon lunch crowd. Walked around the lake to disgust our food. Servings could easily be split between two people.
Finding this place is an ordeal at night unto itself even using Google Maps unless you have time to kill and steps to maximize! Over the hill and through the pasture I found it tucked away behind the movie theater. Nice setting on the water, that’s where it left off for me? While that added walk may have been pilot error, the place is loud, as is night club loud, worse in the bar not suitable to sit, eat and catch the game. The Staff was very busy/unfriendly at the hostess station and downright rude when I asked the tar bender to repeat himself as I had no idea what he’d asked me ? In the end, despite the effort, I left when I saw Market Price for simple staples like guacamole ? guess they feel once you went to the effort to park & walk you would buck up $20.00 for a $8.00 bowl of squashed avocado ? Off I went to Uncle Julio’s for a much better Mexican experience ?
I’ve been dining at Guapos since 2001. Great food and staff!?♥️
Soooo many options but I had the al pastor tacos and my husband had the seafood soup. It all tasted delicious along with my mango margarita. Great views and free parking
We tried for the first time this place for lunch and we loved it! The atmosphere was very energetic as well. Our waitress was very nice and helpful. We ordered GUAPOMOLE, PESCADO EN SALSA CANCUN and POLLO taco The flavors were unmistakably and deliciously Mexican. The homemade tortillas stand up to the juicy flavorful meats and the combinations are both authentic and imaginative. I will highly recommend this restaurant.
Great food with lots of vegan/vegetarian options. Staff was very helpful and accommodating with a toddler in our group as well. Would love to visit again!
We were surprised for Guapo's Breakfast. It was literally great!Highly recommended.
