I’m not sure what happened today, but I feel like I completely out of 45$. The fish taste like it was cooked in old grease and no flavor, the mac and cheese taste like plain unseasoned noodle, the kale greens were just okay, the string beans were below average, and the cabbage was pretty good, the only thing that had some flavor. I really hate when I waste my money on food as hard as it is out here and somebody is comfortable with giving me such food without a care. Unbelievable!!

I spent the beginning of my birthday here and I must say I was so pleasantly impressed. I’m glad I went despite the reviews of salty food because the food was so perfect. I got the chicken and waffles the chicken was fried to perfection and seasoned so well I was so happy. The waffle was light and crispy just how I like it the bang bang shrimp was banging and the fries were soft but lightly fried just how I like it as well. The Customer Service was on point they constantly checked on me to make sure I had what I needed and that the food was just righ. I appreciate them Taking the feedback from the reviews and improving upon their food. I will definitely be back and bring family and friends. So happy to see more soul food and black owned restaurants in our area

The customer service is good but the food is super salty! The breading on the catfish tasted like rubber. Tip for the restaurant... use cornmeal to bread the fish, egg wash and season the cornmeal that's all you need. I don't know what they're using but it made the breading taste like rubber. The breading on the shrimp was extremely salty and as soon as you picked it up it fell off.\\n\\nPrices were extremely high $30 for 6 shrimp, 2 catfish dinner with 2 sides. The \\\"mango\\\" lemonade was a kid size and when she handed it to me it was shocked for almost $4. With this small amount of food and these very high prices and these tiny little drinks they're not going to be in business long.\\n\\nTo the owners, don't sell drinks over $2 that are kids sized. If you have to do that it's better that you not sell it and just sell bottled juice and cans.

The food isn't bad but it is SALTY AS HELL. I got a chicken dinner with yams, mac n cheese, and greens. The mac n cheese made my teeth hurt it was so salty. That's the only season I taste. Nothing else. What a shame. Got a headache after eating this. 25 dollars for salt. I'd be afraid to come here again.

This caught our eye as we where looking for a place for lunch and who can pass up fried chicken, fish or shrimp? The place is nice overall and is practicing social distancing and does require a mask. The menu was a little confusing on what did and did not come with meals and there were paper menus on the counter that did not match what was on the main menu. The paper menus said it was a soft opening but looks like it has been open for a bit so it was confusing. We ordered the fisherman’s dinner which comes with a piece of fried fish filet (catfish or whiting), 4 hush puppies, 4 fried shrimp, crab cake, and two sides. We also ordered a 10 piece chicken tender meal which came with two sides as well. For our sides we got French fries, Mac and Cheese, and greens. They offer a good variety of sauces included mumbo sauce, tartar sauce, honey mustard, ketchup, hot sauce, bbq sauce, and cocktail sauce. Overall the food was good and cooked perfectly. The chicken was good and is a little different type of breading. The Mac and cheese was also very good. The challenge was the fish because half was over seasoned and very salty while the other half was under seasoned. The greens were bland and needed more flavor. There is a double door when you enter and the interior door could be painted to give it an overall fresher look. Probably would come back due to overall inconsistency and confusing menus.

Tried for the first time today. I got the tenders lunch. Chicken is seasoned well and is good. Just a little short on fries. Worth a try.

Our first time trying Fry Guy. I can't say that I was blown away or even pleasantly pleased. The chicken was a slight bit too salty but flavorful and they were huge pieces. A bit to big for my liking and it's hard to dry out thighs....but they managed. What I wasn't really really happy with were the sides. They serve canned green beans that were too soft and mushy, cabbage was over cooked and was just cabbage mush. The candied yams I'm not a fan of. And the poor fries.. they were hard and extra dry like they have been sitting around for a day or so waiting to be pucked up and they were extremely cold by the time I got home and I only live 1.5 miles away. The mango jerk sauces were watered down and now let's talk about the waffles. Why are they so thin? They were about a 1/4 of inch thick. They were tasty but to soft, to thin and to cold. On the positive... the hush puppies and Coleslaw were the only 2 things that I had no complaint about. I can't say that I will go back. But I did give the local place a try.

When I moved to Maryland, I was both amazed and horrified: there’s so much unique and cultured food everywhere you look! The kicker: it’s at least twice as expensive as nearly everywhere else and takeout for two over $50 can literally be anywhere, not just a fancy restaurant. I’ve been here 7 months now, and this place finally restored my faith that great cheap food still exists. Got takeout for two for under $20 here, and even managed to get an extra side for myself. Spicy chicken sandwich was A1, great chicken, great bun, great slaw and pickles, amazing sauce, excellent value. The fries were crinkle cut (which is usually a bad thing) but they were fried just a little harder than most places and seasoned nicely, and they tasted great too! Mac and cheese was bomb, and the sauces were great. Very soulful, nice staff, definitely coming back here, and trying more things on your menu. Keep doing what you’re doing, this place proves food doesn’t have to be super expensive in Maryland to be both good and unique.

By far best experience I've had at a restaurant in years. The staff is very welcoming and the food speaks for itself. There is no other homestyle cuisine in MD that can compete with Fry Guy.I hope they continue to prosper as a black owned business in the area

The best omg it was soooo good and the crab cakes was so bomb ??
