We went lastnight for their first day soft open. Very attentive staff. Server made fantastic recommendations on food and drinks. The steak and frites was delicious, steak perfectly seasoned and great flavors in the parm truffle fries. Also loved the pomegranate martini and their Old Fashioned. Excited to go back soon. Glad to have them in the neighborhood.
We were 2nd couple to arrive for Sunday lunch. Asked for window seat. Hostess directed to a section where all seats are high perches. Can we sit in a normal seat? There's no server for that side. (Servers can't walk those extra 15 feet?) Then, instead of socially distancing the couple that came in behind us, in an almost empty restaurant, hostess sat them in the adjacent booth. Then, server was not bad, but laissez-faire. The food we ordered was excellent. But, eating there was stressful. The music volume was unpleasantly high, and it was bar music, not Sunday brunch tempo. And then the blinds kept going up and down, obscuring the windows that were the reason we sat where we did. Burton's seems more bar than restaurant. It became crowded while we were there -- lots of singles drinking alone at the bar, at high noon -- so clearly some people enjoy the atmosphere. But it's not my type of place for relaxed Sunday lunch.
Visited for my sister-in-law birthday dinner. Her husband raves about the food all the time. I got the 14oz Ribeye!! LISTEN, when I tell y’all this was the best steak I’ve ever tasted Im not joking! I go all over to try different steaks So you can trust my word. Cooked to perfection and seasoned!! Others at the table had the cauliflower, wings, salmon and pasta. Please be sure to order the bread for the table! It’s the best 3 dollars you will ever spend!! We ended up ordering 2 additional LOL. I’m going back next week. Ambiance and waiters were awesome as well! SHOUT OUT TO THE PERSON WHO COOKED THE STEAKS!! ❤️
Service was lackluster at best. Left dirty appetizer plates on our table after lunch was served. Mentioned it was my daughter's birthday and didn't do anything for her. Waited forever to get the check. Food upset all of our stomachs and was mediocre at best. We were so disappointed as it was lunch to celebrate our new UMD daughter's birthday and left feeling ill and like we had nothing decent to eat. Will continue to look for good restaurants near UMD.
Wow! What a great place! The food was delicious and service was great! We were brining our daughter to college at UMD and decided to have a nice farewell dinner and boy, it did not disappoint. The firecracker shrimp appetizer was delicious, my husband got the California chicken sandwich and said it was the best chicken sandwich he had ever had. I got the carbonara with shrimp and that was very yummy and our daughter the filet which she said was great. Highly recommend!
Solid meal. Especially good choice in the College Park area. Not stuffy, yet better than most chains. Fried calamari was shareable. My Mediterranean salad was very good. Salmon dinner was prepared adequately but nothing special. Roasted vegetable bowl with chicken was above average. Maxx burger was good size and quality but slightly under done. Fries were excellent and plentiful. No room for dessert.
Had the crab encrusted haddock, ridiculously tasty. Great ambience, the server was so attentive, so were the hosts. Loved this place. Price was a good value.
We dined here with my out of town cousin without a reservation and had a 40 minute wait. The General Tso's Cauliflower ($13.95) appy was very good, highly recommended. My Crab Crusted Haddock ($25.95) was very delicious served over jasmine rice. The other 2 enjoyed their Crabcakes ($26.95). Our server was very attentive and friendly. Lot's of free parking in nearby lots.
Sat in the bar area in a booth where we could watch the football game. The service was good and the food was even better. Highly recommend the maxi burger which was cooked as ordered and was very tasty also the sweet potato fries were very good. The Risotto with chicken and the Reuben sandwich is highly recommended. We will definitely be back.
The place is very nice and the staff is friendly. Food is very good simple but tasty and a finde selection of wines and drinks complete the menu.
