TLDR: deliciousI met some girlfriends here for brunch the other day. It was the first time here for everyone, so we asked a lot of questions which were all handled expertly by our very friendly server. Her recommendations were spot on, from drinks through dessert. We split several orders of the brussel sprouts, and wanted more to take home. They were the surprising star of the show! My shrimp and grits was delicious, as was everyone else's entree. Splitting the dessert was a good idea, because we were all stuffed by then and the portion size was generous. I plan to take the family for a treat as soon as possible.

Made a reservation and was seated immediately upon arriving which was a treat. The menu is on the smaller side, but coming from a local restaurant they specialize each of the items they offer. I was also pleased with the drink menu; plenty of cocktail, beer and wine options. Enjoyed the pork belly and fried pickle appetizers. Both were presented beautifully and absolutely delicious, came to the table nice and hot. For the entre, ordered chicken pot pie and was disappointed- not what I was expecting. I read the description imagining that it was an actual pie served with side biscuits, not the pie filling over top of biscuits. While the filling and biscuits were delicious separately, I found I had much more biscuit than filling and this made the entre feel dry and bland. I also watched a couple customers report that someone had thrown up in the sink in one of the two gender-neutral bathrooms and it did not get cleaned up while I was there, nor did they close this bathroom. I assume they were busy and did not have the opportunity to clean it up, but I was surprised they didn’t post anything on that bathroom to close it. Nobody wants to see vomit before or during eating.

I absolutely adore Truth and Beauty. This is the third we have been there and it never disappoints. The food is delicious, comfy and flavorful. The staff is kind and helpful. And live music! Love love on Carroll Creek!

My family (grandparents, parents, sister l, sister's boyfriend, and I) sought this place out right before going on vacation.Menu is small ish but things look good.Drinks -We are here for brunch so I get the Blue berry dreams cocktail. I was looking forward to it but it's mediocre at best. Highly watered down in every aspect. No care in it's creation. Cream didn't mix well so the bubbles look waxy. They have coffee but can't make iced coffee or separate it from the cocktails.I watched the vanilla chai iced tea being made. It is poured from a big mason jar behind the counter containing a few tea bags and filled with cold water. My problem is not the concept but rather the fact that it was served immediately after adding water to an almost empty jar and no new tea bags. Again, no care.Food -Three scallops to the appetizer. Didn't try them but my grandparents seemed to like them. Can't give a fair review here.Korean spicy wings were good. Cooked well, not overwhelming in flavor or spicy which is a good thing; I personally could have used more potency. The little side of ranch was delicious.Didn't have crab cake, so opted for fish and chips instead. Not much flavor but the crunch of the crust and tenderness of the fish was beautiful.Parents got the glazed and confused burger, both cooked medium. Ive had a similar dish before and didn't like it so I'll try to be especially fair and objective. It wasn't quite medium but it wasnt well done either. Edible and tasty, just not for me.Salmon BLT, didn't try but grandpa liked. To be honest, I thought it was going to come out cold. Pleasantly surprised and relieved to be wrong.French toast. Also light in flavor but very nice and fluffy overall. This and the wings are the only things I'd consider ordering again.Everyone got fries with their food. They just have emptied out the remaining dregs of what resembles French fries onto my plate because everyone else's were nice and fat. Bland in flavor and a little oily but overall, not bad.I'm willing to try anything twice. Better luck for all of us next time I fly 3000 miles here.

HIGHLY recommend. The food is great and all the servers are super nice and accommodating. I got the fish and chips and a $5 mimosa on Saturday. If you’re looking for a new place to try downtown, you should check it out?

Ambience is ok, service was good. We tried their cocktail (Tito Vodka with syrup) and in entre we tried their crab cake which was not that great and pan seared salmon which was amazing as it comes with Brussel sprouts. best part is its lake facing so its good if you wanna see outside and enjoy lighting during christmas. Worth trying if you around in that area for outside dining experience. Food is average

This place is fantastic! Moreover, it's the first place I've dined in many months where the it truly felt like the pandemic is having no bearing on guest experience. The staff was timely and knowledgeable. The food was delicious and beautifully presented. The menu is on the small side but it was a relief not to begin a dining experience with a long list of menu items that the restaurant was out of (no shade to the places who have to do this right now, I completely understand!).One of our party had a signature cocktail that featured lemon meringue moonshine, which he enjoyed immensely. He was kind enough to allow the rest of us to sample it and we agreed it was delicious! Another of our party had a Moscow Mule, which was not on the signature cocktail menu but they obliged this request and she enjoyed it! Truth and Beauty also has an excellent beer and wine selection from which my husband and I chose our beverages: Left Hand Nitro Milk Stout for him and New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc for me!In terms of food, we shared the wings as our appetizer for the table which was a great choice! The sauce that comes with them is delightful: I wish I could have gotten a vat of it!My husband had the pork loin and LOVED IT--he'd cleaned his plate a mere matter of moments after it arrived. My mom and I both had burgers which were utter perfection: a runny egg on a burger is just the best thing in the world. My dad, who tends to be the pickiest one of the four of us, had the Blackened Catfish and could not say enough about how good it was. He's very sensitive to spice and our server was very professional and answered some questions for him about how spicy various dishes were and this helped him choose something that he really enjoyed a lot.The only item that I might potentially recommend this establishment consider revising, is the font size used in the menus for the menu item descriptors. I am relatively young with relatively good eyes and even my young, good eyes had a pretty tough time reading this very small print. The menu item titles are just fine -- we can see those beautifully -- but the bit underneath where the accompaniments, sauce, and other descriptors are listed -- is rather difficult. The environment in the dining room is quite pleasant for a number of reasons: the music was at the exact correct volume, it was very clean inside, the decor is lovely, and the restrooms feature some fun art, inclusive signs, and are of a size that make it relatively easy for a person using a mobility aid (wheelchair or otherwise) to maneuver in and out.Pro tip: If visiting this establishment with a person who requires mobility aids (or tiny humans who require strollers), you have two options for accessible entry. You can enter from the Carroll Creek side (near Structures salon) and come up the ramp which will bring you right to the front door of the restaurant; or you may enter through the rear of the building (the door that faces the parking garage), take the elevator to floor one, exit the building (on the Carroll Creek side), Truth and Beauty will be a few doors down on your right.Photos: The awesomely inclusive bathroom sign, the bowl of bobby pins available in the restroom (Can we get one of these everywhere please!?), and the wee gallery inside the restroom! We can't wait to go back!(Forgive me for not posting photos of the food, we ate it too fast!)

This is one of the newest hidden gems on the canal in Frederick. The owner and his crew are wonderful! The food was really good. Their crab and corn chowder was amazing. The fish and chips were delicious. We will be back.

Small, family run, corner bistro that will satisfy and delight!! The fish from the fish and chips lunch entree had the most crispy but lightest batter I've ever had the the pleasure of tasting. And the fries were excellently prepared. The chicken pot pie was excellent and creamy, practically had us licking the bowls clean! Can't wait to return next week to try the brunch.

My wife and I dined here with another couple and our nephew. We like to order small plates and share them around the table, so we literally ordered one of every appetizer on the menu (except soup, which is hard to share), and drinks. The Tot*chos, Fried Green Beans, Salmon Bites, Fried Pickles, Korean Chicken Wings, and Deviled Eggs were top notch! Tasty and perfectly prepared. The Pork Meatballs were a tad boring, the Scallops were a bit underdone and bland, and the Pork Belly was very rubbery. But our server was excellent, and the food prep was fast and timely. So aside from the few items that didn't knock our socks off, it was a wonderful meal and easy on the pocketbook. I think we would eat here again.
