Went here to taste some of Fredericks seafood. Was awesome! Will go back! I got oysters, shrimp and crab legs. Reasonable price and great tasting. Service was spot on. Husband got wings and said they were very tasty. Go there!
Two stars reflect quality adjusted for pricing; food quality is 3 stars.SUMMARYThink of this restaurant as a casual bar with some seafood attached and you’ll get a good idea of the vibe. Food quality varied from very good to forgettable. Overall, there’s better seafood to be had elsewhere. Overpriced for the food and service quality (a good-sized lunch for 2 was >$80 before tax and tip; >$100 after tax and tip.)***Details:The best item we tasted were the raw oysters of the day from Chincoteague Island, MD. Nice and briny. Unfortunately, they were gritty: more careful cleaning would have been apt. Extra points for the very good horseradish served on the side. The seafood sampler platters at $26.99 per person are good (not outstanding), but overpriced for what they are. Note that they do *not* come with sides (menu is somewhat unclear about which items come with sides, so ask.) Steamed shrimp was very good, steamed clams and mussels good enough, steamed oysters forgettable. There is better seafood to be had elsewhere at better prices. If you order sides, corn on the cob is very good, coleslaw good and fries average/forgettable.A minus for the lack of a bowl for shells. Ask for an extra plate. Another minus for the small carry out cups: the lids do not fit properly on the cups.Service is no frills, as is the decor.
Absolutely loved this place! It was so much fun on a Friday night and the DJ was great! Their drinks were so yummy and I hear the bar food is pretty great too
Just stopped in for happy hr. Prices were on point! I had a couple of beers; however, other prices I seen for happy hr foodies also looked exceptional as well.
Excellent seafood. Reasonable prices, with a dozen Chesapeake Bay oysters for $16.99. Full bar with creative cocktail menu and oyster shooters. I also had crab balls and grilled scallops, which were excellent. They were short staffed but I still got good service at the bar.
I went there for the first time with a friend of mine about a week ago. We went for happy hour and both got crushes, they were delicious! I would definitely recommend the lemon crush! We also decided on shrimp nachos and they were delicious as well! I'll definitely be visiting again.
Oysters in Frederick? You betcha! Welcome to the Shuckin Shack, a down home bar with a great atmosphere and your favorite comfort food.Covid almost killed them off, but they are back, with a big expansion & lots to love. Good-size outdoor seating, a dance floor, oh and several varieties of oysters. They even have a decent happy hour.Park in the garage around the corner, relax, and have some fun.
We drove to MD for a business trip. This was our only option for dinner near us. Bar attender was super nice, but the food was pretty bad - Oysters were full of shells and were not fresh, the lobster roll was in a hotdog bun lol and I think it was imitation and crab the crab cake burger…. Not even going to say anything. Only giving a 2 star because of the bartender
Our group of 6 came for lunch, beers and Sunday Football. Food was great, craft beers weren't always poured fully and the Natural Light advertised as $2 on the wall display were actually $3. Overall, we had fun, but pricey. Service was good, but will watch the bill more closely if we go back.
Carol was incredible, she not only had a full bar but also was able to talk to each of her customers.. and recommend delicious drinks and food.. will definitely come back again.
