I stopped at this restaurant passing through to D.C. Awesome place for steak & ambiance ! Awesome history in this place and the staff were top notch ! I had the filet mignon & my buddy had the kabob’s ! Both cooked to perfection with rich taste ! The hostess (Loraine) was super hospitable & accommodating. Our waitress (Kileen) was very attentive & knowledgeable about the menu ! The manager (Don, with a killer mustache) even came to our table to check on us. Highly recommend to out-of-towners and locals alike ! Will most definitely be back next time through !!!
We were told by the Hostess that it is a good idea to make reservations on the weekend because they get quite crowded. We got lucky because there was a table open for 2. Not a good idea to sit on the side where there are tables full of parties when there are only 1 or 2 people dining. It gets very loud. Our Waiter, Brent, was phenomenal. He was very polite and accommodating. We shall go there again.
On a scale of 1 to 10Location (10)Front desk and greeting (8)Wait staff (7)Drinks (10) They are a little light on the long pourCleanliness (10)Food (7) Ordered the T Bone Steak (Medium Well) didn't quite work out that way. For a steak house they have low quality steak joined with a cook that doesn't cook steak that often. I had the hand cut fries and broccoli. The fries were mostly the outside cut and very small. Buy quality potatoes and cut them individually for the customer. Also don't serve shoestring Potato with steak. Wife ordered burger and salad. Very dry and had to ask for barbecue sauce to eat it.Quality and Value (3) $101.00 with a 22.00 tip ($123.00) for 2 people. We will not return to this restaurant. We usually always go twice but this was enough for us to see. By the reviews I see that the owners usually write a generic response "so as to fix the problem". My advice would be to fix it.
I've been coming to the Red Horse a few times a year for almost 30 years now. I can honestly say that I've never had a bad experience in this establishment. From the appetizers all the way through the desserts everything has always been top notch, including the service. It's a tad on the pricey side, but I feel it's always been money well spent on a great meal and in support of an awesome local restaurant. I encourage any and everyone to swing through and experience it for yourselves. The stuffed mushroom caps, Filet Mignon, and Chocolate Lava Cake are my top choices. But I doubt you'll find much on the menu that isn't really good! Until next time, cheers!
Took 9 of my friends to Red Horse and it was fabulous. Service was great, tons of cocktails to choose from, and the wine was delicious. 4 stars because one of the steaks had to be sent back to be cooked longer.
My favorite steak house for over 40 years! The food is always really good, along with service.
Our waitress was vert good and service was excellent. My steak was very tough and vegetables were charred too much. 3 out of 4 of us were disappointed in our meals.
I had the prime rib, which was good, but had to be sent back because it was not hot enough. The salad and baked potato was good and the bread was excellent!
Excellent prepared drinks by Tess. Dinner was outstanding. Best selection of salmon. Beautiful, warm huge fireplace and atmosphere.
Took my wife here for her birthday. Service was awesome, potentially due to that no one was there. This was also 2 days before Xmas. Food was burnt, undercooked for her, overcooked for me. Lobster was overcooked but not terribly. If you have an option in Frederick, for the money take yourself to Dutchess Daughter.
