My daughter and I had a mother- daughter day yesterday and we had lunch at Pistarro. This was our first time there and I wanted to give a shout out to our server John who was awesome. All too often people.are quick to point out when something goes wrong. Everything went right and I highly recommend Pistarro.

Definitely a good little spot to eat. The pizza slaps, and the spaghetti dish I had was excellent. Also really good salads that you can add chicken breast to.

Service was slow and restaurant was littered with unbused tables and used plates and utensils on bar area. Pizza was ok no taste to sauce and 3 or 4 pieces of cheese was all I got. Crust was very light but with right seasoning and sauce could be very good. My husband got spaghetti bolognese and he said it was just ok. Might be ok for family place but not for anyone expecting a super meal

Love the authentic Italian food. Great service too.

Twice now I have driven the 40 minutes to Pistarro’s, having had great service and food in the past, to be turned away both times. I requested each time to sit outside, while there clearly were tables available and people already seated at a handful. Both times I was told they weren’t seating outside. When I pushed and said there were tables available and people already sitting in those areas, I was told they were understaffed. I requested to speak to the manager, expecting to be put on a wait which I would have accepted, but he too told me they weren’t seating anyone else outside. Neither he nor the host staff attempted to compromise or remedy the situation. I assured him he would not get another dime from me ever again. I couldn’t believe what an egregious display of customer service and management this was.

I have never had a bad meal at Pistarros. The food is always excellent, the selection is great, and the service is always very professional. The new dining area has such a cool vibe to it. Love the rustic feel and the big tables. There are so many good restaurants in Frederick yet, when I visit, I always end up at Pistarros.

Excellent food, service, and atmosphere. I love their outdoor patio in the spring and summer and their cozy ambiance inside in the winter. Always get the bread appetizer (with olive oil and balsamic vinegar). Pizzas are great - my favorites are the polpettine, donatella, and diavola. My kids love coming here because they often get a ball of pizza dough to play with at the table and the kids menu is great- they even get a scoop of seriously delicious ice cream for dessert!

Awesome place to meet with family and friends. Huge , heavy, farm style tables. Lovely decor over all. . It has a large room, for parties/events and I assume, overflow. Big windows and outdoor seating + a patio on the side adjoining the park, give it that city cafe vibe. Great pizzas, salads, and other things like steamed mussels, gyro, bruschetta etc… if you haven’t been yet, definitely go! We were told that they don’t take reservations, but it wasn’t busy the day we went (lunch hour), so that wasn’t a problem.

There were only two of us. We ordered immediately without any menu explanation from the server and should of know what was about to happen! On sitting down waitress got us water. We asked for lemon and after 15 minutes had to ask where it was to be told bar tender was extremely busy! We never got lemon but limes! We ordered 2 cocktails which also took an age to come, more that 20 mins and one was a straight beer! We sat and watched tables of six plus, who sat down after us getting there orders before us. Recognising the poor service we asked for a box to take our remain starter home - you guessed it that took an age. Then the simple pizza we ordered at same time as everything else was nowhere to be seen. At 2 hours from sitting down we bailed and told them to forget pizza. When server bought the check to table she simply said my manager has taken pizza off! There was no apology.

Great service and delicious food. Pomodaro and Carciofi alla Romana were awesome.
