Delicious hibachi with giant portions. The hibachi dinner comes with a little bowl of soup broth and a little bowl of salad as an appetizer, white rice (fried rice is $2.50 extra), lo mein noodles, vegetables, 2 shrimp, and protein of your choice (steak, chicken, shrimp, filet mignon, etc). We ordered the chicken and shrimp, and steak and shrimp. It's pretty pricey (about $30 for each hibachi dinner) but the portions are so big that we took most of it home for leftovers.
This a great place for dinner. It has ample room and enjoying the show is more than enough reason to go eat here. Kasey has a beautiful smile and runs a tight ship. The staff looks like they enjoy working there.The sushi rolls are not the typical rolls found at other Japanese restaurants. This is a refreshing change to eating super fresh sushi.If you want awesome sushi and a great steak, try this place.
We got this for our family as take out. Incredibly fast and excellent food. I highly suggest the monkey roll. My kids don’t usually like any form of sushi but devoured this. Everything we got tasted fresh and was delicious. 10/10!
We haven't been to Matsutake for hibachi service in a few years. It was my son's birthday so I offered to take him there. It was very busy for a Tuesday at 5:30 and we had to wait. (I tried to make reservations on their website but it wouldn't let me and said they weren't needed.) The meal itself was very good and we got a lot of food! I ended up bringing enough home for lunch the next day. I got the filet mignon and it was flavorful, tender and delicious! The chef's show was entertaining as always. My only complaint was the main service was very limited. They were clearly short staffed so it was difficult to get the attention of the server for more drinks and our soup and salad bowls were never cleared so the table was pretty cluttered. Other than that, it was a good time! Will definitely go back.
Great place for special occasions or if you want a different eating experience, chef cooks in front of you. They give lots of rice and noodles. Fried rice cost extra but worth getting in my opinion otherwise you get only white rice.
The wife and I sat at the tepanyaki table for the live show. We were not let down at all . The service was fast. Make reservations as this place gets busy. Being from Vegas we didn't think the prices were bad at all. The quality of the food and service are definitely worth the price.
I’m still amazed at the unsanitary and dangerous conditions and how the owner/manager defended it! We went on a Saturday night and I’ll even excuse the fact that it took an hour to be seated and even get the drinks even with a reservation. The other people at the table ordered sushi and the woman explained an allergy that she had (fish eggs). Sushi was brought to the table and sure enough, there was the allergen, placed right on top! The waitress was called over and she even argued with the patron about the order! Eventually, they did replace it. However, that was the least of the problems! One of the other people at the table had their drink fall over and the drink and the straw landed on the hibachi grill. It happens and it was nowhere near the food. The hibachi chef took his spatula and just cleared everything up. However, he didn’t get rid of the spatula and take a brand new one that had not touch somebody else’s drink and germs! He Then proceeded to use that same spatulcook the chicken that my family was going to be having. When I spoke up and said that that was extreme question coming from and I didn’t want them to use a spatula that was just used cleaned up somebody else’s drink, he seemed a bit surprised but they agreed to redo the chicken. I mentioned this to the owner as we were leaving because I was absolutely shocked That a restaurant would feel that is appropriate to have such extreme cross contamination. The owner try to justify it and said to me well the grill is hot so it would be fine. This is absolutely unbelievable. The fact that he tried to justify this astounded me! He actually argued that it was still sanitary! He did give me a gift certificate but that was a complete waste because if this is considered acceptable, I never want to go back there ever!
Beef and chicken hibachi w fried rice was OUT OF THIS WORLD, but we went on a weeknight later in day and seemed to be short cooks. We waited about 30mins at the bar to be seated then at least an hour, not exaggerating, for the cook to come out. And yes there were others at our table. I will always go again just not on a week night.
Friendly staff and generous food portions. Clean and large place. My kids love hibachi fire show!
Haters are going to hate. If you order well, you'll be happier. Get some nigori sake in a cup. Order salmon, tuna, fatty salmon, and eel sashimi with an avocado roll. And I guarantee you'll be satisfied and ready for your flight out of DCA. You're welcome. Kiss kiss.
