Food was ok, presentation lacking. At these prices, i expect more than a chain restaurant. The mandatory 20% tip was annoying. No wonder we never saw our waitress after the food came. I'm a good tipper, esp. post covid; i normally leave 30% or more, but i don't like being told after we sit down that 20% will be added BEFORE we got food or service. This was our 1st and last visit.
Brought 3 kids and three adults. After automatic tip total was $330. Anything other than bread or pasta was terrible. The two fish dishes/crab topping/ shrimp/ calamari were terrible. My son was in the bathroom for an hour after eating prosciutto pizza. Waitress/manager was callous and passive aggressive. Way overpriced. Was not expecting much from an Urbana restaurant but very low quality tasteless expensive place. Would not recommend.
Ate here with the wife and two kids last weekend. Server was very nice, but the food was overpriced and underwhelming. Fettuccine Alfredo was more like noodles in butter sauce, broccoli and potatoes served with the fish were both cold, lasagna tasted like chefboyardee, etc. Management really needs to rethink their prices and recipes before someone else opens an Italian restaurant in Urbana and puts these guys out of business.
No lunch menu and bread was extra at dinner priced
Excellent quality and great service from this family owned restaurant. Great selection of authentic Italian dishes. Not cheap but worth every penny for quality home made food!
Agreed with most of the comments here. We live in Urbana and wanted to support local businesses. However, price point is way too off compared to others. Just a simple complimentary bread and oil will make customers feel welcome.Hope there will be change soon or this will not last
The service and quality here is sub-par for what you would expect based on the location and pricing. I’ve seldom had a friendly experience, whether being greeted for pickup or dining in with family in the multiple years giving this place a chance. It’s one of the few “decent restaurants” in the Urbana area and ends up being supported due to location but maybe I’m missing something.
We have been long time, 11 year customers of this place, and still have never had a negative experience.Today I had a lentil soup that was hardy and flavorful. I gladly ordered a basket of bread. Yes. People. I paid for the bread. Again, I was glad to. Times are changing folks. Prepare to spend a little extra to help keep your favorite places going..We bring our family here for birthdays, and enjoy special gatherings with friends. We enjoy a nice lunch, or sometimes carryout. All good. It is worth buying a basket of bread! Mary and Roz are awesome to spend a bit of time with. Always great service, and they make us feel at home. Thank you for everything you do ladies! Oh! And the caramel apple cake is out of bounds yum! Do It!
This was an average Italian joint. This should be 3 star, but some key pricing issues hurt them. 1) $4 for a basket of bread. I have never paid for bread before. But I did and it was...standard. 2) soda is $3 and only get 1 refill. How cheap of you.The Calamari was yummy but there was just not enough of them. The pasta was underwhelming. Both meals lacked flavor. I am not saying it was bad, but for the amount spent...I could do better for cheaper.Bathroom was nice and clean.
Food and service were amazing, one of the best Italian restaurants I've tried so far. The penne mangia e bevi was really really good.
