Absolutely amazing food!! Placed order from my phone and walked in 20 minutes later and food was ready! Lady was a sweet heart! She felt so bad that they were 1oz short of pulled pork for my meal so she threw in extra wings for me! This was amazing and definitely will bring me back with just that one honest conversation with her. She could have easily not given me any extra wings and never told me because I probably wouldn’t have noticed, but she didn’t and she was amazing! I will definitely be back.. who knows maybe tomorrow ?
Seriously the best bbq in town. We love the pulled pork, cole slaw, beans, mac and cheese.....and that BBQ sauce. I'm going to need a gallon of it just for my house. Delicious food.
Mackie’s Gaitherburg did an amazing job with our work party. We had a catering order of just under 30. And the food was great!! Cam was super helpful and nice. Multiple people asked where the food was from so it sounds like Mackie’s has a few more customers!! Thank you again!
I admire this restaurant very much. there is a very special air. The kitcen is good. the service is efficient and the waiters are polite. The cost is modest. I highly recommend.
The ribs are meaty, and delicious, the brisket was very tender, and I loved the green beans. The bbq sauce is VERY good, and has a unique flavor, I definitely recommend it.
Not a very splashy place, but they have great food. We've enjoyed several dishes here and they are have all been very good. The seasoning is great and they can compete with any bbq in town.
Stopped by for lunch on a Sunday afternoon just before Xmas. Outstanding pulled pork sandwich. Also enjoyed the slaw, potato salad and Texas beans as well as fresh corn bread. We frequently pass through Frederick on the way to visit family, so this is now going to be a regular stop. Great customer service from a very friendly staff. My wife is from Memphis and "knows" BBQ. She gives Mackies a big thumbs up.
BY FAR, the best beef brisket sandwich U have ever had. Not even close. My wife said that her pulled chicken sandwich was equally fantastic. We also split a terrific order of nachos with tender, delicious pulled pork on it. Every type of meat was tender as can be and perfectly seasoned. The barbecue was just right...not too much of it like some barbecue joints do. Owner was like the guy next door...friendly and warm. This is my new go-to for barbecue.
We FINALLY tried Mackie's this week after hearing about it for forever. Ordered the $60 some of everything package for carry out. Mackie's is in a house so the seating area is no larger than a living and dining room. Very cozy and nice. This is an order at the counter situation and our cashier was super nice and helpful. So we tried the chicken and pork barbeque, a rack of ribs, mac and cheese and beans. Everything was on point! We had enough to feed 4 people with plenty of leftovers for a whole meal the next day. Would go here again in a minute! The food is cooked off-site so there isn't the smell of barbeque in the restaurant which seems odd.
My coworkers and I came in from Florida and wanted to try some mom and pop places in the area. As soon as we got into town I looked through the Bbq places and saw some good reviews and you will not be disappointed. Great food, atmosphere is very nice in this old style home. Homemade lemonade was some of the best I have tasted and the food we all ordered was one of the best Bbq places I have ever been to and will be coming back later this week to try some more.
