Well my,my,my. This is our first tip here. We just stopped in for a margarita while waiting. I opened up their reviews and noticed they've really gone down hill. Party of 4, got a pitcher of frozen margarita & chips with salsa. I specifically asked for homemade extra hot salsa-I received a bottle of habanero hot sauce that wasn't hot at all. Their house salsa was ok, chips light & fresh. If we haven't had plans to eat somewhere else I was actually curious as to what the food tasted like. Maybe next time.
The worst dining experience I’ve had in a long time. Chose to eat here because of the location and came for a late lunch so it was not a very busy time. It was just me and my baby. Waited at least 5 minutes just to be acknowledged by someone at the hostess stand (this is when I should have left). Another 10 mins of waiting while a line formed behind me and employees just walked back and forth trying not make eye contact. Finally got seated and waited another 15 mins for a glass of water, a high chair, and to place my order. Then waited ALMOST AN HOUR for 2 shrimp tacos. And by shrimp tacos I mean just a couple of tortillas with overcooked, under seasoned shrimp thrown into them. Horribly slow service, food was terrible and had absolutely no flavor, and the server (although he was nice) didn’t even stop once to check on me so I ate my meal without any napkins. Will never be back.
Worst. Service. Ever.I tried to think the worst dine experience I have ever had in my life and I think it's this restaurant.0 star actually. We were seated pretty quickly. Then No menu. No drinks. No chips and salsa. No waiter checking on us.They just kept on walking by us and giving everyone else chips and salsa and their service.About 10 mins in, I had to be like "hey? Menu?!" And the waiter was like okay. They brought menu for us and left. Hello? Not going to take our drink order?Waiters just kept on walking by us. Finally we alerted them asking for water and chips & salsa. They brought after a while. I became annoyed because this is not how anyone dinner experience should be. At all.My kid accidentally spilled the water all over the table. They saw it. They did not come to clean it. I had to ask them to clean. Why do I need to dictate them how to do their job? It was as if they didn't care about us at all.My hubby ordered a margarita & I ordered dinner for us all and my husband added, "more chips and salsa please." The waiter nodded her head. After a while, Nothing. He asked again after a few minutes. "Okay" was the response. Nothing. Our dinner and his drink came. No chips and salsa so my husband asked for it again. "Okay" was what we got but still no chips and salsa. 4 times. We just gave up. Oh, we also had to ask for utensils after getting our food.My veggie quesadilla was interesting. Baby carrots not cut into pieces and stem of broccoli, not the head of broccoli. Thick cut of zucchini. So unimpressed.Hubs' chicken was dry. He said the sauce was good but not the enchiladas.We. Will. NOT. Be. Returning. Mainly because their service was the worst ever for us.
Got the chicken chimichanga and fried calamari here. The location is awesome and with nice view. However, the food was overly salted, while chicken in the chimichanga was dry. It’s definitely a good spot just to drink and enjoy the view. I wouldn’t recommend eating here.
The intent of this review is to really help this place improve and stay in business. The food was bad, the arroz marinero had no flavor, plain white rice with tasteless fish and shrimp. Perhaps a coconut sauce rather then the pineapple would do the trick. The calamari lol , can not be fried until it brakes when you stick the fork in it , it looked like dry fruit rather than calamari. The tacos sides: it says a lot when the rice at a Mexican place is hard and not well cooked. That should be the easy part.
Good food, little slow service but no major complaints
This is one of 2 Mexican restaurants on Carroll Creek. Food is average, servers are very friendly, but it is painfully slow (which is not on them). Be prepared to sit a while, but if the weather is nice, then it doesn't matter as much.
Updated review:. Poor service. The waiter was rude. It took forever to get our food. One dish was good the rest were just okay. This is just a nice place to visit for nachos on the patio. My first visit was a 5 star experience. Delicious Sangria, smooth and not too strong. Crisp and sweet plantains. Decent queso. Great service
Remarkably bland. The flavor that stuck out to me the most was the white corn tortillas.I had an underwhelming experience when this was RoRo's, but thought they'd make some changes with the rebranding. No dice.I ordered the fish tacos to go. The refried beans were flavorful but soupy. The rice had no seasoning and only a sprinkle of peas and carrots to kick it up. While the tilapia was fresh and cooked well, it was also devoid of seasoning. The iceberg lettuce was on the verge of wilting, the guacamole was just about to turn brown, and there wasn't enough pico de gallo to go between the two small tacos. For nearly twenty dollars I got a cafeteria experience.Skip La Casona and go to Cafe Bueno up the street.
Food was good, service was effective and friendly. They do competitive meals with surrounding restaurants and did not disappoint. Outdoor, fenced off seating, under umbrellas available to avoid the Sun, rain and the Covid.
