first time here with wifey and the food and atmosphere was excellent ?
Good food and service. Great atmosphere. Definitely a must!
Love this place! Food is awesome and Martini Tuesday makes things even better. Definitely recommend checking this place out!
I had the chicken piccata which was lemony and buttery goodness. My friends had the salmon which was done perfectly. I live in Waldorf MD, so good Italian is hard to find around here. I always love to go to Il Porto when I visit my friends in Frederick!
We did not have a reservation and the restaurant was pretty full on a Friday, but the host was able to get us a table in a few minutes. Food service was great and efficient. Entrees were fresh and delicious.
For over fourteen years, my wife and I have chosen Il Porto as our favorite restaurant. Their front service is professional and helpful. Their kitchen staff is skilled and knowledgeable. Our favorite dishes are Billy Salads and Mussels Soup, the Specials (e.g., Roast Veal or Broiled Whole Flounder) and the Flan for dessert. (I once ordered Lobster Ravioli for my main course ...and again as my dessert.) We always ask the server to choose a bottle of wine (within a specific price range) and we are always pleased. Best of all, we often take home enough food and wine for a wonderful meal the next day. We also celebrate Snow Days by ordering Billy Salads and two pizzas at Il Porto on days before snow is predicted. Yesterday was a Snow Day. But since we've really missed the food at Il Porto, we decided to place a bigger order: two Billy Salads and a dish of Red Peppers and Anchovies, an Eggplant Parmesan and a Mussels Linguine, and a flan. Oh yeah! Because it was a Pizza Day, we had a White Pizza with Fontina Cheese. Thank You Kindly, Il Porto. It was the best Pizza Day ever.
Cozy, fancy little restaurant with excellent servers, comfortable environment and excellent food. The lasagna was scrumptious!! We stopped in for lunch but I would definitely say this would be a good place for a date night!
Absolutely amazing. The atmosphere is wonderful, service is top tier and the food... just the beat. It's a 100-mile round trip to Frederick, and the food at Il Porto makes the drive worth it enough to become a regular stop. The ONLY downside is parking. The restaurant doesn't have a dedicated parking lot, so competing with downtown traffic for a good spot is a bit frustrating.
It was insanely busy the night we went which probably was the root source of some of our issues. The noise level inside was deafening, the food portions were small for the price paid and the taste of the food was average. I've heard good things in the past about this restaurant so I will give it another chance.
Great Place and the Food is Great
