Crab filled COD. Prepared perfect. No shells. Full of flavor and would highly recommend. Nice setting in a old German way. 34th anniversary.
When looking at the style of the restaurant, you may think that Gladchuk’s is an antiquated place that isn’t able to keep up with the new pacing of Frederick’s food scene, however, you’d be wrong. Gladchuk’s is a staple in the food scene in Frederick. If you’re looking for a place that doesn’t try and be something they aren’t, serving traditional favorites at an extremely high level, this is your place. The mothers day special is steps above anywhere else in the area for the service, food, and experience. The waiter was truly the best I’ve had. He was fast but gave space and diligent in making sure our party had what they needed. The food was also phenomenal as well. If you get any of the seafood you can’t go wrong. I ordered the stuffed shrimp with crab and it was outstanding. The dish was served with duchess potatoes and some steamed vegetables to round out the meal. We look forward to coming back soon.
First time here and was VERY impressed. Coconut shrimp, shrimp penne pasta special, and crab cake were all top notch. The crab cake may be the best I have had in a long long time. All lump, very big, and served with fries and coleslaw. The restaurant is not cheap but you get what you pay for. Staff was extremely friendly and our waiter was excellent!! Definitely recommend
I was the Pastor at the wedding of a young local couple who told me about this beloved German restaurant in city & county of Frederick, MD. So we met up there tonight for an early dinner, and I could not be happier! :-) The restaurant is beautiful. It really has a comfortable, old-world charm that you will find relaxing & welcoming. We arrived early (they open for dinner at 4:30, also open for lunch), and I'm glad we did, and had reservations, because this popular, casual-nice attire restaurant filled up with families, couples, business partners, and the friendly, attentive staff did not miss a beat in their meticulous service. I really want to thank the super nice young lady who Waited our table (I'm the customer in the wheelchair) -- I hope I get her next week when I take my dad there for lunch. This wonderful place is located on W. Patrick St., which is a 1-Way road, so it may be a little tricky getting there in weekend traffic. Parking is on a hill, which is fine, but mobility-challenged patrons with strollers may find the hill a bit taxing, more so for people in wheelchairs like myself. There is a wheelchair accessible door on the front left for easy access (call so they know to open it), and the tables were nicely spaced apart so no problem rolling around. I do not think the restrooms are wheelchair accessible...walking handicap, yes, but doors may be too narrow for a chair (this building pre-dates ADA). Their 'Soup-of-the-Day' Specials...WoW! I had the delicious Bacon-Spinach Quiche this time, and next time I'm getting the Schwein (pork) Schnitzel, and the time after that the "Bros. Special" pasta with bacon, ham, and chicken. For dessert I had the INCREDIBLE warn Bread Pudding (was that cinnamon-raisin Brioche bread???)...so fluffy. Next dessert will be their VT Maple custard...or mint chip ice cream pie. See??? There is just too much goodness not to want to return several times. Great atmosphere & Wait Staff, good portion size of delicious food, and at a fair, reasonable price. I would LOVE to see this place in the winter with the fireplace on, and it must be AWESOME during holidays like at St. Patrick's Day or Oktoberfest! Treat yourself to a spectacular meal in a charming setting with super-service, or better yet, take a date, your family, friends, co-workers, or plan your next Special Gathering in this special place, making Special Memories -- So Worth The Visit...GO! :-) -- Pastor Bob
The turkey dinner wasn't any better than Denny's. Salty turkey, very little and average dressing, almost no gravy, tasteless scalloped potatoes. The cream of crab soup was good, but their "bowl" would be a cup at other restaurants. Very disappointing. And expensive for 2 at $70 with the tip we left for the efficient waiter. We won't go back.
Lovely place with great service. We got the crab stuffed mushrooms, pork schnitzel, and stuffed shrimp and they were all excellent and very filling. Absolutely coming back soon!
The delicious food, you could perceive the fresh ingredients on the palate! The place is cozy and the attention is excellent. I would definitely go again!????
I needed a halfway point between Harrisburg Pa and Fredericksburg Va and chose Gladchuk’s purely by chance. There were 12 of us celebrating my dad’s 90th birthday. The atmosphere was the first thing we all commented on - how comfortable, friendly, and inviting it was. The menu was spot on with plenty of choices and great prices. The staff was the best - cheerful, friendly, and helpful. They even baked a cake for my dad for dessert! And ooohhhhh was it good!! I’d love to come back next time I’m in the area.
Service was fantastic-all employees were so very friendly and the food was wonderful! Cleaned our plates! To top it off every lady was given a single red rose ?.
THis was our first visit to Gladchuk Brothers. It is a beautiful place to eat, with old country atmosphere, a roaring fire, and lots of wood trim. The food was delicious but the service was SO SLOW. We waited over 30 min. just for our appetizers. Also, on a cold evening, it was chilly as the front half of the restaurant is open to the front door area and every time someone came in, so did a blast of cold air. We look forward to visiting again when it is warmer and we have more time.
