This was the first time I have dined in the evening at Cellar Door. Sunday brunch previously was at least 4 stars but this visit fell short of my expectations. We arrived on time at 6:15 and seated promptly. It was about 15 minutes to get our drinks. We ordered an appetizer (chips and salsa) which arrived 15 minutes later. We called the waitress over to order our entree while waiting for the appetizer. It was an hour after we arrived when we finally had our entree. Our food was fine but the lack of attention to our order caused my wife and daughter's food to have sauces and cheese on the entrees which were unwanted. The biggest struggle I observed was being short-staffed. There was only one waitress and one bartender who was also waiting tables. While the restaurant wasn't packed, it was filling up to about half capacity during the dinner hour. Our waitress was working hard to be as punctual as possible but the kitchen was causing service to be slow. I cannot say that I'll return to dine at Cellar Door for dinner again.

I’ve been here a couple times recently and really had a great time on the comedy nights, both the amateur and professional. The food was good the staff was great and love the atmosphere.
Cellar Door is amazing! My friend and I usually come here for the night entertainment, but decided to give dinner a try here the other night. Hands down amazing food. We weren't expecting it to be so good. Best nachos of my life, and the staff is very kind and helpful!
Fish and chips were overfried. Cheese steak was cold. Server was inattentive to say the least. Would have complained about the food if the server had checked on us after a few bites. I had to go to the bar to get the check. Literally no one was acknowledging us. We were the only table seated in the dining room... 2/10 would not recommend.
I have been coming here at night for the club like atmosphere for years. Never woukd u have imagined that this place would have such great food!!! Absolutely fantastic. They have always had great service even when busy on a Saturday night. They are well staffed and know how to keep the bar flowing.. Food here is excellent and they have real ingredients.. Do not miss out on the French onion soup. I believe it is the best in Frederick!!!! Come try it and let me know what you think!!!
Had a few drinks and some Zaney fries. Brisket was great and the fries are handcut. We asked for a modification and they were more than wiling to accomodate.Cocktails were really good as well.Amber Nicole took really great care of us. My other half had done some work in this area and he asked her about the place, and she vame back with maps and I found etc. Definitely above and beyond!
I am surprised that this is on Open Table. It makes me question wether or not we will use the app again.
We stopped in Frederick for dinner on our way home from Baltimore. I found the Cellar Door searching Google maps, we've been to Frederick several times and wanted to try a new place, it had good ratings/reviws and decided to give it a shot.It was a rainy Tuesday, downtown was very quiet as was the restaurant, a quiet restaurant always makes us a little hesitant. But, The Cellar Door did not disappoint, loved the atmosphere, the menu had a good amount of options to choose from.We started with loaded nachos as an appetizer, the portion size was spot on for 2 or 3 people.I had the Brisket Zane and my wife had the French Dip, both were nothing short of excellent. My brisket was full of flavor, melt in your mouth tender. My wife's French Dip was even better. Again the meat was extremely tender, the bread/hoagie roll was awesome. The Au Jus was full of flavor as well. Last but not least, we both had fries with our dinner, they too were extremely good. I didn't ask, but guessing they were fresh cut and cooked to perfection.I highly recommend! Can't wait to return.
Great spot for date nights. We attended the open mic for new comedians and enjoyed every part of our experience. The customer service was great, even better was the food & drinks! We will be back!
