Great burger joint! One of the best cheeseburgers I've had in a long time, and they also have delicious hot dogs and fries. Will be making this a favorite spot to eat at!
Loved the food! They have a great brussel sprout dish. Their signature burger is delicious, and is unique. The staff is super friendly. Overall it's a fresh take on a burger place, and I'd definitely return.
Very tasty burger. I would better say the burger was absolutely delicious. The burger, bun and toppings were all fresh and yummy. Order took just several minutes to prepare, cook and bagged. You can eat in or take out. Menu is on line, on the store front window and taped to the counter. They have french fries, etc. and a cooler with drinks.
Do not sleep on this place. They have delicious grass-fed beef burgers, crispy fries, and the best Brussels sprouts! There are also options for those that don't eat red meat, or those who don't eat meat at all. The customer service is also top-notch. The guy at the front counter made recommendations and even came over to make sure I was completely in love with my food. Definitely stop in and try these awesome burgers for yourself.
Amazing burgers and customer service! The employees greeted us immediately and walked us through the menu. We got their signature burger and it was delicious!! The pattie is FULL of flavor. I think it's the best burger I've ever eaten in Frederick! The fries and cheese fries were so good too. Their different flavored sodas are from a company I hadn't heard of before and I was skeptical but they were actually so good! Tasted just as good as Fanta. The burger, fries, and drink were all for around $20 - very reasonably priced for such a high quality. I'll definitely be coming here asap for another burger
Glad Boxcar built a brick and mortar location in Frederick. The same quality food and great service they provided on the food trailer at Idiom Brewing Co. carries over here. The Capital City Mambo Sprouts are an awesome appetizer. All thr burgers are great. I especially like the It's Kind of a Big Dill burger which comes with fried pickles on it.
So this was our first time going to the restaurant that is box car burgers. I have been to the food truck several times had great burgers and serviceI do have to admit that the fries were better here at the restaurant. That's where the story ends. My burger seemed smaller than what I got at the food truck. I asked for tomato and yes I got one slice that was paper thin and it was the very top of the tomato that had a giant hole in it where the stem was. I ordered bacon and I got 1 slice cut in half it was rather rubbery. The burger needed more salt and pepper and there was none around on the tables, I guess I could have asked? Now being that said.....our whole order was $45. Yes they have a dinning room that cute but no table service. You have to pick up your burgers from the counter, they have napkins over by the trash recycling bin. For $45 I totally understand grass fed beef but a little service and salt and pepper would be nice. I would go back to the food truck....not sure about the restaurant. I feel like I should have gotten two slices of bacon and a good slice of tomato for what we paid for.
Boxcar and Steakbomb are the same guys. Since Steakbomb food truck (now Boxcar) wasn't at the Idiom location, we went to the Boxcar East St. location. The burgers are the bomb. The sprouts are to die for. Simply put, it was awesome. We'll be back many, many times.
If I could give this place more than 5 stars I would. We ordered the mambo sprouts, French fries (well done of course), Sriracha chicken sandwich and It’s Kind of A Big Dill burger. The brussel sprouts were phenomenal and a great portion. They made sure our fries were actually nice and crispy, (and I love the shoe string fries!!) The sandwiches were everything we could have hoped for them to be, not dried out, great seasoning, all around a wonderful experience. I don’t typically take the time to leave a lot of reviews, but this place is worth it. Can’t wait to go back here again soon!
Burgers were well made and tasted delicious, we had the boxcar burger and grilled chicken special. Kiddo had the hot dog and managed to finish the whole thing. With drinks it cost around $35 for the 3 of us so a bit pricey but we’ll worth it. Very popular with the locals as they had 15-20 to-go orders alone while we sat and ate.
