Amazing! The sides were incredible. My Mac n cheese almost like moms. The greens were cooked just right.The brisket just melted in my mouth great smoked flavor the KC sauce were great. The Smoked Pork was delicious especially with the coleslaw and original sauce. The ribs tender with great flavor.Service was great! Will be back again soon.
This is a review only for the food. The meat was less than mediocre. I had the ribs, Arkansas brisket and pig shoulder and all of them were quite flavorless and needed a lot of sauce to be enjoyed. The ribs were supposed to have dry rub but the seasoning was just sprinkled on top. I'm not a picky eater at all, but the meal was truly disappointing.
The 1 star is completely for the food. The staff was great. I got the Arkansas Brisket, the pulled pork, and the dry ribs and every one of them struck out. The dry rub ribs had no real taste and literally just had the rub sprinkled on top after they were cooked. The brisket was really tough and didn't bring any taste with them outside of the sauce they were swimming in. The pulled pork had no taste on its own and was only good to dump in the mac and cheese and dump a bunch of BBQ sauce on top. The only reason I finished eating was because I hadn't eaten all day and needed something in my stomach. I'm originally out of Texas so I was trying to not bring in any big expectations but this didn't even meet the minimal expectations one could have.
Atmosphere and service were excellent. Staff was awesome. Sides were delicious. The BBQ itself was good but nothing to write home about. Still delicious and much better than making brisket at home. Still recommend going to anyone, but not my first choice.
Staff is always fast and friendly! If you are looking for great BBQ this is your spot. Wings and pulled pork are my favorites but other items are very good as well. They can accommodate a party of 6-10 easily. Food is always hot and fresh. Sweet Tea is always on point!! Go, enjoy!
Years ago, when Black Hog was a one-shop business on Market street, they were hands down the best brisket in town. Now with additional locations, unfortunately, their quality & taste have suffered. At best an average taste, but with higher prices, Black Hog no longer represents a value. Their people, however, are almost always very friendly & helpful, so all three stars go to the wait staff! Good job y'all!
I got the Smoked Pork Shoulder (which is pulled pork), with Potato Salad, Coleslaw, and Cornbread. I first tried the smoked pork without any barbecue sauce, and it's fresh, and totally good on its own. Some barbecue establishments rely entirely on their barbecue sauce for taste, and use it to mask the gamy flavor of their meat. Here at Black Hog, the barbecue sauce enhances the already great flavor of the meat.The Potato Salad was pretty average. However, the Coleslaw was really good! I don't like sour coleslaw. This is a creamy coleslaw, balanced by subtle sweetness, tanginess, and black pepper.Finally, the cornbread was pretty good, but nothing too crazy. I like chunky, moist cornbread. This cornbread was not at all cakey nor dry, but it also didn't have the levels of chonk and moisture that I wanted.

This was a huge disappointment. I ordered the two meat combo. The beef brisket that I ordered was the Arkansas style. The waitress said it was the most tender of the beef brisket. I have never seen beef brisket cut in chunks like that. It's usually in slices. It was overcooked. Drowned in sauce. Very little smoke flavor. The smoke sausage was good. The cornbread was dry and had little flavor. The mac and cheese had very little flavor too. I left my number on my receipt for the manager to call me if they wanted to discuss. I have heard nothing. Very mediocre food for the price.
The BBQ here is extremely over rated. It isn't bad, but it isn't great either. What it is, is extremely over priced. You won't get out of any black hogg restaurant for less than 25- 30 Dollars PER PERSON. That's terrible. My review?- Not bad, but not worth what you have to pay..
