Evelyn is the best waitress I have had in Frederick hands down! Great food, great drinks, great family atmosphere, and the BEST SERVICE- oh and MARYLAND CRABS! Summer doesn’t get better than this on a Tuesday night!
The food is good; the flavors are subpar, but it is fun. Definitely a place you come for a great atmosphere and a good time. I wish they would commit to the flavors on the crab, but still worth coming to.
We have eaten at Averys many times (and very favorably reviewed) but not recently so I was excited to return. Unfortunately the experience was less than enjoyable and we likely won't be back. While we were seated right away, we got the last table that was dead center of the dining room and everyone coming or going passed by. One server in too much of a hurry spilled water all over us and offered only a hurried sorry. The entire meal we were dodging people and things, not relaxing. The crab quesadilla was yummy for an appetizer if a bit steep at $14. We both got crabcakes and they were all a disappointment - way too much filler, like eating globs of soggy bread. If that's the only way to stretch crabmeat to get a desired size, I'd rather have smaller than soggy. My steak from the platter tasted of grill material and was hard to get down. Never had a steak from Averys and should have avoided it last night too. I certainly do not mind paying more for a good meal but I do mind paying, and tipping on that higher amount, when the meal was not enjoyable and the service was lacking. Sad to say when we want a good seafood dinner in the future, we won't go to Averys.
This place is awesome! Such a wide selection! We had the best time celebrating my birthday! Staff were incredibly nice, hospitable and knowledgeable. This will be a monthly go to for sure!
Food was great. Service was fantastic....get there early..prices were reasonable..it was one of those hidden gems ,off the beaten path sort of places. Get the rockfish bites for an appetizer..hush puppies were delicious as well as the stuffed flounder,just wished it was a little larger. If you cant find a seat inside go to the bar downstairs. I think it goes by a different name but it is still the same Averys food. Erica the waitress/bartender was excellent. would recommend this place anytime, but like I said ,get there early or make reservation
Our group numbered 16 and we were seated at a large table. We only had to wait a few minutes until at least half our party was there, it sure smelled like a seafood place. Drinks were good but our satisfaction didn’t last long. Appetizers didn’t come until the main courses were served. And the orders were so mixed up that finally we accepted what was put in front of us. Salads were so so as the greens were wilting and the chicken in mine was tough and dry
This place is unbelievable. I am southern boy from Louisiana and this is in my top 10 of seafood place to eat. I got the all you can eat the staff was on their game. I did not have to wait for refills or flag anyone down. If in Maryland or Virginia or Delaware or New York or New Jersey you need to go to this place
I don't even know where to start..drove from Virginia Beach with my wife to check out some local attractions and this was one, the GM was really cool and even jumped in on my video I did for Facebook, we got seated and Danielle waited on us, explaining how everything worked and keeping our plates and water filled at every opportunity, she was amazing as was every other person that came by our table, I got the unlimited snow crab option which includes everything and my wife got the 3 crab platter which everything was 100 percent perfect! As a Google Guide, I review quite a few places and Averys gets 5 stars and plus 5 more! GO AND SEE!

Great Food, awesome staff, family owned and they are amazing people. If you haven’t tried Avery’s Maryland Grille, you should definitely try it out! ?
