Ridiculous venue. Never going back here. As a neighbor I love to support local businesses but this is the last time I give UJ a go. My first visit last year I was horrified to find no decent ciders; the only cider they have is Angry Orchard. That’s strike 1 and 2. Then tonight as I waited next to a woman to finish her order (there was only one bartender) a taller man jumped in and started to put his order in when it was my turn. I put my hand up and let him know “hey, I’m next” to which he apologized and paused to let me order. The bartender refused to even acknowledge me and said to the gentlemen “go ahead”. The woman who I was behind was puzzled and shocked “she was right behind me” In the meantime as I’m waving to the bartender “I’m next” it was obvious for some weird reason he was purposefully ignoring and refusing to even look at my direction. Everyone was in shock at the rude, bizarre behavior by the bartender. I quickly left. As a former pub owner, I can’t imagine anyone treating a customer like this unless there was a good reason, like intoxication or other bad behavior. I’ll steer clear and let my friends know the same.
Just there a day ago. Party of six.The hostess was so helpful! She assisted me with some gorilla glue for my broken sandal. Thank you!!Our server was very friendly and patient. Thank you!!We got a bucket of corona that according to our server contained six beers, when it came out, it only had five. ??♀️I guess not a big deal, but then again, not accurate.We order two appetizers (bacon wrapped shrimp and crab meat dip - both delicious-.) that came out pretty quickly.We order dinner. Two of our dishes ( salmon dish) came out pretty fast. The other four dinners were never served.The staff completely forgot about us. Not sure what happened. ??♀️
Went during off hours between lunch and dinner, but the service was still great and quick!We tried the pretzel appetizer with the honey mustard and cheese dip. The pretzel and honey mustard dip were delicious! The cheese dip was like regular nacho cheese, so next time we’d probably go without it. We both ordered the fish and chips for our meal, and they were FANTASTIC! The portions were large, the food was crispy and the apple slaw was amazing (and we usually aren’t slaw fans).We had a great experience and will definitely be back!
Can't wait to go again. We shared a bunch of appetizers and everything was very tasty! ídult drinks were on point too! Not to mention we had a great waiter.
Even when this restaurant is short staffed, they always know how to make sure you're taken care of. Food is always on point and they are solid neighborhood restaurant. Whenever we wanna meet up with friends we come here.By far best fish and chips I've ever had.
As an English Pub this is by far one of the best places we've found that serves the most amazing Fish and chips or Shrimp and chips and let me tell you we also had their pretzel appetizers and OMG so delicious. Prices are adequate and the size of the plates substantial; the Fish are flaky, the Shrimp are plump and meaty and the homemade chips are crisp and not oily. All sauces we had made a big impression as well. This is a place you must visit if you're ever in the Columbia area.
Three of the eight of us (first timers) had mixed drinks getting 3 rounds each and the running joke was that the same drink was made differently. No consistency. When we asked the server she laughed and said "ya it happens a lot, just depends on who makes it." Food was decent. We had a good time as a group, and our server was very good, fun, attentive. She knew the menu and how frequently to check in on us and had funny conversations with us. Times are tough with staffing so as long as we kept a good attitude and our server had fun the place was a good experience. We would go back.
The service from our waiter was absolutely horrendous. It took 50 minutes to receive an appetizer, and over 20 minutes to receive our drink order. We started going to the bar to get our own drinks and created a separate tab.. We were told the bar was backed up. However, when I went to the bar, I received drinks 3 different times right away. Later we asked for 2 glasses of water. We never received them. However, the waiter came to our table 2 different times to ask if we needed anything.
We had a great meal here tonight. There was a little heater on the outdoor table to keep us comfortable. Emma did an awesome job and had a great attitude! Shoutout to her!
