We came in at about 11:00 p.m. after a concert at Merriweather. Most of the staff seemed very unhappy to see us, and that is enough to gain a one star review. We were seated, and handed menus. After about 9 minutes, and me being on the verge of throwing a cussing fit, the most amazing person showed up. Brandon (not sure of the spelling)!! This guy was… one of the best food service staff members that we have ever had the privilege of meeting. The restaurant would get a 6.5 for cleanliness. It would get a 9 for price. If it weren’t for Brandon, it would have received a 2.4 for customer service. Yeah. It’s a pain when you’re an hour from closing, and two people show up with two kids. If you don’t like retail/ hospitality, then quit. Those are the cards you’re dealt sometimes. However, as mentioned above, Brandon (hope that’s how he spells his name) saved this review. He was cordial. He was energetic. He interacted with our 10 and 13 year old daughters. He made sure that everything was delicious and served the way we asked. He made small talk, and we ended up having a lot in common. This man is the kind of person that you want to see in every hospitality position. He should be promoted to management! We will be back to visit again, and ONLY because of Brandon.
The one word that comes to mind regarding our recent visit to this location is "shabby". First, the sign out front wasn't lit, so we weren't even sure the restaurant was open. Then, there was no one to greet us when we arrived and even the bartender ignored our presence (I would have expected him to at least tell us that someone would be out shortly to seat us). In the women's restroom, the paper towel and soap dispensers did not work. The french fries were advertised as "seasoned" - they didn't even have salt on them, let alone some kind of seasoning, and they tasted like they'd been sitting under a heat lamp for hours. The dipping sauces came in to-go plastic cups (very cheap looking). The loaded potato skins were tasteless - how does that even happen? The only bright spot in our entire experience was our server, Brandon, who was enthusiastic, efficient, and personable. It's too bad that we won't return to see him again, but we won't miss the restaurant as a whole. We are locals and there are plenty of restaurant options so we won't need to be disappointed by this place again. I'm sorry to see that it's gone so far downhill from when it first opened.
I waited 45 minutes in a completely empty restaurant…my salad did not come with dressing, waited like 15 minutes on the phone once I got home with the manager and was told he won’t refund me for my salad that I can not eat. Instead he opted for a $15 dollars off my next visit. Doesn’t help my current 20 minutes round trip - 45 minute wait to only get home and not eat dinner. And the freaking chicken tastes like burnt crud!
So..... They aren't busy as a restaurant as a whole in the very least. I ordered the Classics Friday Combo with the added Pan-Seared Pot Stickers. To the tune of $21.38. I first tried the mozzarella stick to start and it was warm. The next item I tried were the chicken wings. They were ice cold and I sent the entire entree back without any desire to order more food. No manager ever came to explain the lack of importance as to why the food was cold. This is very important, in my opinion, within the food service industry.Edit: The bartenders were great and even told the manager right in front of me 45 minutes after the fact and he never said anything to me.
Visiting from out of town with the family and we were greeted with a most pleasant experience! We were promptly seated by the hosts and our server was quick to meet us. Brandon, props to you because you are one of the most pleasant servers I've experienced! Not only that, but the drinks he mixed were succulent and some of the best we've had. The food was quick to come out, it was hot, and it was delicious!Thank you very much for the wonderful experience Brandon and the TGIs team!
Philly Cheesesteak Egg Rolls are horrible! There is little to no steak inside the egg roll, just some cheese. It almost tasted like the dough was not done. TGIF needs to hire cooks that can actually cook. The shrimp was seasoned but tasted salty and the fries were not crispy. I will not order food from their again. Please hire people that can cook.
I will not be returning. We were a party of 9. The restaurant was bare but it took 20 minutes to get a table. After another 30 minutes, we had to ask the hostesses (inattentive but right next to our table) where a server was. We then waited 15 minutes for them to recruit a cook to be our server. Orders (that were taken correctly) came out wrong or NOT AT ALL. We had to ask for a manager given how horrendous things were. This experience put our entire family in a bad mood.I do not recommend coming to this location at all, other families also left dissatisfied and spoke to/yelled at management. On the contrary, our server, Ayana, handled everything in a very friendly and professional manner.
WORST PLACE TO GO! Today was the first day we actually ate at a restaurant since the pandemic. I was sat at the bar and the waitress/bartender came to get our drink order after 10 mins of waiting…after that she was complaining about how over stimulated she was and how she usually has her “shit together” EXCUSE ME!! I have a little one right next to me..whatever I let it go..but then I waited 30mins to get my drinks and after that mins later my app come in and me and my husband finished with our app and the server NEVER CAME BACK TO TAKE OUR ENTREES ORDER….we just asked someone else to bring our check. Oh and I almost forgot SHE HAD NO RESPECT FOR OUR PERSONAL SPACE..
I had the worse experience in my life here. When I walked into the establishment, it was blazing in there. We were seated at the table but found the table was too small to fit us. We went to go look for the person who sat us and found a person sitting at a table coloring. Yes, coloring. When we were seated we were sitting at our table for a few minutes before we got a waitress. We ordered our drinks and got them back 15 minutes after we ordered them. Then we needed time to see what we wanted to order. Another 15. Our waitress came over, took our orders and we waited. We sat for an hour before waitress came to us and noticed we didn't have any food. Our food was placed in the "to-go" order section when we never ordered for to go.One of the meals was requested to be well-done and only that one meal. EVERYTHING came burnt. Our fries came out soggy. I hope moving foward you all can do better.
I am so disappointed. We came into the restaurant and ordered our drinks what took about 20 minutes. We order out food and sat for an hour and never even ate. One of our orders was made to be well done and EVERYTHING came burnt. The utensils were DIRTY. The customer service was terrible. 10/10 would NOT recommend.
