Likely the best sushi in the area. A key tell tale is great sushi rice!! I could eat a huge bowl of just the sushi rice! The fish are shipped in fresh and the rolls are innovative with fun names. They've also got great udon. Not to mention it's a local Mom and Pop shop with super nice owners ❤️
Service was friendly, restaurant clean, and safe area. The food was excellent. Every meal we saw pass by looked delicious and a large serving... we could of split the meal. We had the chicken hibachi and it was great... we would recommend it and eat here again for sure.
I used to love this place but I'm disappointed in the quality of the food lately. The order we picked up tonight was bland and we got one container of soy sauce for 4 rolls and a sashimi entrée. I'm not sure what changed but please undo it, Hanami.
I really like the Udon noodles. They offer quick takeout and nice food packaging. Their indoor dining has a relaxed atmosphere.
Most depressing sashimi experience I've ever had. The shredded daikon on the plate was better-tasting than some of the fish.Something has gone seriously wrong here. The mackerel had the texture of overcooked chicken breast, the yellowtail was disturbingly watery and they even managed to ruin what appeared to be a decent cut of tuna. Salmon was just on the right side of acceptable, but considering the price, even that is disappointing on some level. It was a bad enough experience that I considered asking for a refund after a single bite. In retrospect, I should have listened to those instincts.
I've been going to Hanami for approximately 15 years. It used to be reliable and fresh, but has gone downhill in recent years (even before covid). The last 3 times we ordered takeout, each successive order was worse than the last. The very last order we brought home was terrible. We primarily purchase sushi rolls and sashimi and have had most of the rolls on the menu. The last rolls we ordered were fishy smelling and tasted like they'd gone bad. We often order the Japanese Shrimp Fried Rice for kiddo, and the second to last time we ordered it the shrimp in the rice was still raw. I believe it changed ownership several years ago, and the slide downhill has been occurring gradually since then. Unfortunately, this spot is no longer on our rotation. I'm not aware of any other sushi place in College Park that is much better (Wasabi is like grocery store sushi, not great, but not *bad* like this has been).
Chicken teriyaki smelled bad as in its gone bad. Honestly not sure if it's tue chicken or the sauce it's in. Called and she said the chicken is fine. No comments made about the sauce. This has left a terible sensory effect that I can't ever go back. I'd advice, open and smell your meal before leaving. I didn't do that and I'm not headed back in that direction for a while. Sadly I'm never going back. They can keep the cost I paid but have forever lost a customer and that of all my family and friends.
I came here with my friends last week and the service was so great! the food was tooooo yummy. I came back tonight for takeout japanese fried rice and an asparagus roll. They're so friendly here. It feels so comfy and cozy in here. I love this place ?
Sushi rolls very good, other dishes good, but not the best.
Very very yummy!! We just went in for a quick bite to eat and chat and it was very very nice. We had the Terp roll (recommended if you like a sweet/ salty mix), the yellowtail roll, and the eel, plus a green tea with toasted rice (which is so so yummy) and a matcha boba tea (it was alright). The ambience was super chill and we enjoyed just being able to talk quietly (I hope we didn't sound too loud, at least hahaha). Overall, I recommend it, it is a (tiny) bit on the pricier side, so take that into account when you go~♡
