My husband and I love Iron Rooster, for its great food, menu, and service. Weâve been to all three locations in Maryland, but Hunt Valley is the first one we went to and itâs the closest to our home. We really enjoy coming. Iâm a fan of the BLTE, Chicken and Waffles and the Roo Tarts.
Grewat food and swevice, very loud tho
Maddie was outstanding and the food was great. Unfortunately, the noise level was very unpleasant. There was a group of men facing our booth and while it was fun watching their good friends laugh and talk, the noise was piercing, making it very difficult to hold any conversation.
Good food very loud
I had reservations for my family. They were ready to accommodate us. The food was great! My only opportunity for improvement is that the windowsill was dusty as we sat right next to the window.
The only thing that bothered me was that I had a reservation at 11 I got there early the woman who was being waited on before me put her name in and got her table before my reservation. They held me to my reservation time even though I felt like my table was probably empty and ready the whole time I was waiting there. The one hosted was as pleasant as could be but the one who I dealt with seemed a little snobby kept saying well your reservation time is at 11. There were empty tables the whole time I was waiting. The service once we got to the table and food was absolutely amazing. Moving forward should I make additional reservation in case I do arrive early or if I run late.
The food is always great!!! Introduced 3 new people to the Iron Rooster. One of them exclaimed that it is his new favorite place.
after hearing a local TV station tout the homemade pop tart RoosTart we thought we'd give it a try. We were seated after a brief wait where there was no one at the greeter desk (about 2 mins, no big deal). Our table was wobbly so we put a couple of Sweet n Low packets under one leg and we were good. After a short wait our waitress showed up - we saw that she was doing double duty as the bartender and waitressing and there seems to be a lot of demand for their cocktails before noon. We asked about today's RoosTarts; we picked the mixed berry and strawberry cheesecake, Classic Benny, the veggie frittata, coffee, and water. She brought us the RoosTarts first and it was about a 4 inch square pastry with fruit and whipped cream. It was a bit too much; a size of a regular pop tart would've been better because it's supposed to be an appetizer but put me into sugar shock, and I didn't really care for the darker pastry part. I ate most of mine with an effort, and my wife hardly ate any of hers. The Classic Benny with two separate halves with Canadian bacon, hollandaise sauce and Parmesan butter were pretty good, as the home fries. My wife liked the frittata but left a bunch; not my thing so I won't comment. We had to ask twice for water and coffee and never got the second cups of coffee because the waitress disappeared for long periods of time (bar tending, I suppose). So the bill with tip was about $62 for two. Not a place we'll be especially planning a trip to return to.
Great spot for breakfast or lunch. Love the seasonal specials and dog-friendly ambiance.
Kyle, as always, was wonderful! Very friendly, kind, and attentive. The food keeps bringing us back. I only wish that the noise wasn't so loud. It's very hard to have a conversation and I wish that the ceiling had dampening materials. We will be back, tho!
