Good to the lump. You won't be disappointed. Order or make reservations early everytime. Not just holidays EVERYTIME.
Walked in. Sat at the bar with my son. Place was half empty. Told by the server we couldn’t sit there. I asked for a table. They said you need a reservation or wait two hours. I told them have a nice life. They said Happy Mother’s Day. Not nice on my part, but the server implied we aren’t welcome. None of my neighbors in Catonsville have nice things to say about the place either. I just wanted to know if what they said was true or not. Enjoy!
Friendly and attentive staff, tasty appetizer and great steamed crabs!
Be careful because the prices online are not the prices inside but the crabs are juicy, hot, large, meaty, and delicious. They are a delight for your soul. The staff Lynn, my waitress was nice and very knowledgeable and helpful when she could be. But beware of the costly prices but you get what you pay for!On a side note, I don't think that the AUTOMATIC GRATUITY should be paid by to the waiter or waitress. WHAT if they are not deserving of the tip. Gratuitous means satisfied with their service. If I am not satisfied with their service or if they don't necessarily have what I or my friends have ordered do they DESERVE a TIP??? I say NO.. WHAT if the waitress or waiter was having a bad day or the cook ? I just don't think it's fair that we the customers are made to pay the waiters or waitresses paycheck with an AUTOMATIC GRATUITY of 20%... Just think if the waiter or waitress had 8 tables that day ad all oof them were a party of 4 or more spending a minimum of $1000.00. That's $1600.00 that the waiter has made. The owner is getting away with us the patrons paying the waiters or waitresses paycheck.. If we pay it then why are they employed by them. They probably are employed as independent contractors. I wouldn't be surprised if they were.
Our waiter, believe her name was Lynn, was excellent. It was very busy & she was getting her work in.
My wife wanted crabs and Ship's was recommended by her coworker. We ordered cream of crab soup and a dozen XL crabs. The soup and crabs were great. Our crabs were hot, heavy and seasoned well. We only ate 1/2 a dozen before we tapped out. My wife did say next time she will request a little more seasoning. Last but not least our server Brandi was fantastic and we will be back.
Today was our first time dinning at Ships. The service and food was outstanding. Kudos to the two you men as well as our waitress for awesome customer service. We will definitely dine there regularly!
amazing family owned local restaurant . first visit in 16 year's , still feels like home !
I am very disappointed with this restaurant. I always patronize Ships whether I am dining in or carrying out. Well, today I was told that I had to dine in to purchase the larger crab sizes and if I wanted to do carry out, I could only purchase the smallest sized crabs that they offer. Due to the high rate of Covid that is going around, I do not feel comfortable dining in. I don’t know what type of discrimination this is but I will never support this restaurant again. I believe a paying customer should never be denied access to the entire menu just because they choose not to dine in. It’s safe to say that Ships will never get my business again. Carry out or dine in. I have never experienced this type of issue with any other restaurant.
Went for lunch- bartender was very friendly and the food was better than 5 stars!
