Disappointing Overall I expected more from SmokeyBones. Only came here because there was a discount under my American Express Platinum card. Should have know that when I arrived and stopped in the bathroom that this was going to be a bad experience. The smell was horrible and there was a leak from one of the toilets. The second impression was sitting in the booth. The seat was ripped and cushion was missing so basically sitting on the wood frame. The food was average except for the sausage that came out rock hard. Asked for another one and it did not come out much better.
Smokey Bones is an excellent franchise. This is not one of them. Ordered take out; followed the timeline for preparation on Grub Hub. Went to pick up. No welcome, no “can I do anything Else for you, no nothing. Got back to our hotel room and found no barbecue sauce (none offered) and also the food was cold. There was almost no one at this restaurant when I went for pickup. It’s no wonder. Smokey Bones does not deserve this type of service to their patrons. It’s better than this. I would not recommend this location (Bowie Maryland) to anyone. Shame.
If I could give this restaurant less than one star I would. Nothing about this place is worth my hard earned money. I just walked out after sitting there for an hour with only water on the table. We got seated at a dirty table and asked our server to clean it off. She didn’t seem to happy with that request and eventually the hostess showed up and cleaned the sticky mess off. I sat and watched my server take another couples drink order and then walk past my table to take someone else’s payment. Wen she finally made her way back to the table, she asked if someone had come over to clean it. I told her yes and asked was she ready to take our drink order. She told me no because she had to take the order of the couple who’s drink order she previously took. Then she said, I can get you another server. OK!! New server shows up and we give him our drink order and our food order. An Old Fashion and a coke. Now we’ve been there 45 minutes with only water. After several trips by the table, I asked about our drinks. Eventually the coke came out. Then thy dimmed the lights. No light at my table, so now I’m sitting in the dark; literally. Now I’m ready to!! It’s been a hour with no food or drink except for a flat coke. Left the coke on he table and bounced. Stopped by to let the hostess know, but she didn’t seem too interested since she was sitting up front eating Taco Bell. This place is a joke.
After reading the reviews, I was very skeptical about eating here...The drinks were good, the customer service was impeccable...I ordered the Brisket...It was very tough and my waiter was very apologetic (even though he wasn't the cook)...He asked me did I want anything else and I ordered the Pulled Pork...That saved my dinner...I enjoyed everything...I can't remember my writer's name but he had trainee working with and they both did a wonderful job!!!
Not crowded, food was good, still following protocols for the most part...server masks slip off at times...
The one in Bowie MD is horrible, bad service, not great food and unreasonable. I challenge someone to go to a BBQ place that wants to charge you for BBQ sauce. Then justify this policy by saying your order doesn't get you FREE BBQ sauce, not extra sauce just 1 packet. Like getting McDonald's fries and they want to charge you for 1 pack of ketchup.
Love this place but they need to mop the floor with something better that smell makes me natious
Our drinks were good, after they gave us the wrong drinks the first time. Our server was the sweetest, and this is no fault of hers. The place wasn’t busy at all, less than 50% capacity and it took over an hour for us to get our food. It arrived one person’s meal at a time, with long periods of time in between. Fried pickles first- lukewarm at best. Then fish tacos ten minutes later. After another 10 minutes we got our third meal- which was not what we ordered. The fourth one never arrived. At least the drinks were good.
Let me say, the waiter...he tried to be pleasant. But this visit was a cluster from the start. My son was kept waiting for his drink twice. The volcano burgers came with no bacon when they were supposed to. Waiter said they weren't but a quick scan of the menu confirmed what we already knew. The pulled pork sandwich tasted pre-chewed. My dish was late but turns out...it wasn't late at all. My ribs were given to someone else at the table. His dish was late, not mine. But he was already eating. So I cancelled the rib order that was being made and waited on the check. I was frustrated but not angry. But the icing? Those 2 volcano burgers? Inedible. We love, love spicy food but this was coated with what tasted like scotch bonnet pepper paste. Not one of them could enjoy it, at all. It was horrible. 5 people, all of the orders were wrong. We returned the volcano burgers for a refund and just took the rest to go. Only mentioned the terrible burgers to the manager because I didnt want to cause trouble for the waiter. But honestly, the whole experience was trash. I feel sorry for the waiter and he got a tip because that would be uncool to deny a person their living wages but man o' man....never ever again.
Went there for Mother's Day...... HORRIBLE! The waitress kept leaving and seemed impatient while taking our orders. The Kitchen was backed up, ran out of some food items and then served us cold food. My first drink was delicious, but second drink was watered down. One of the waitresses was play arguing on the dining room floor saying, "Do you want to hit me? Come on! Hit me!" Extremely unprofessional.Simply THE LAST time I will patronize that establishment. I will drive from MD to VA and try that location. Unbelievable time!
