I had the shot ribs for $31.00. Do not get these, I had 5 bones and only 2 had meat on them and they were very chewy. No sure why they are prices so high. Truly no worth the money.

I loved the vibe of this black owned cafe! As soon as we entered the store, we were greeted by friendly employees. We ordered the fried chicken wings with mac and cheese and greens, fried catfish with string beans and yams, also fried porkchops. For dessert we got peach cobbler and bread pudding. All of the food was delicious!! We will most definitely be going back!!

I have eaten here plenty of times. Pros: All of their meats are pretty good. The shirt rib is excellent and worth the money. The catfish is seasoned and fried perfectly. They tend to over-cook the salmon but it is edible. The chicken wings are tasty as well. The cornbread is on point. Cons: all the sides are trash! They are mediocre. I cannot recommend any of the sides because they are just average and not that good. It's like no effort is put into any of it. The yams taste like they come from the can. The beans are hard with no seasoning. The mashed potatoes taste instant. The greens have more stalks than anything else. The Mac and cheese is nothing special to rave about. The desserts are okay. Way too expensive. All the drinks will give you diabetes. The drinks are good but super sweet. Like that Kool-Aid with too much sugar.

I ordered chicken wings and baked salmon. My order was supposed to be ready at 5:08 and it wasn't ready until 5:38. After waiting 10 min after expected time, I went in to check on my order. The reason it was taking long was because someone forgot to put the salmon in the oven on time. One of the girls at the register found this amusing and laughed. I went back to my car and waited another 20 min until I got a text that my order was ready. I got a halfhearted apology, got my food, and went home. The salmon was bland, the chicken wings seem like they had been sitting the entire time in the container while the salmon cooked, as they were nearly room temp and not crispy. One of the chicken wings were old and inedible. The collard greens and sweet tea were the only items we got that were enjoyable.I don't think I'll be back. I don't think anyone cares how late my order was. And no one bothered to fry the wings so that they were fresh with the salmon. This is one of the few soul food spots around me and it's too bad I can't trust the quality anymore.

I ordered the salmon & grits and it was amazing! A very good portion size, will be at least 2 meals for me. My order was ready a full 10 mins before the quoted time. Will be back.

It had been a while since visiting Ruby's. Happy to say the taste of the food has improved. The biscuits are everything. I ordered blackened salmon with greens and black-eyed peas. My son's order was the fried wings with greens and mac and cheese. A side of mac & cheese and fried corn. So the salmon was delicious, the greens were too salty for me but my son liked the taste of them. The black-eyed peas tasted heavy and bland. Needed more seasoning. The rest of the sides ordered were delicious. The desserts (banana pudding & red velvet cake) was so on point. I would recommend and go back to Ruby's just ordering a couple of different sides. The staff was awesome, polite and courteous. Ruby's I 'll be back.

Originally saw this restaurant on an IG page that I follow. I was in town for the weekend and figured I'd try it out. Being a southern girl who grew up eating soul food, I went in with an open mind. I had the baked chicken with cabbage and mac & cheese for the sides. Solid seasoning and flavor on the chicken and Mac. The cabbage was a tiny bit undercooked but I do know the employees were concerned about the wait time for me to receive my food so I think it led a bit of a rush on the person cooking the cabbage. My family had fried fish, rice & gravy, greens and green beans. They enjoyed their food choices. If you like sweet cornbread (I do), definitely try theirs. They work hard in there. It was a Friday evening and customers were flowing in/out pretty heavily. I would definitely go back the next time I'm in the area.

The food was just meh for us... definitely not worth the price we paid. The website says dine in is an option, it's not. If we had known that, we would have called our order in. The regulars knew this so although there were beef ribs on the line, they were reserved for the call in orders. The fried whiting was thin, the mac and cheese was made with processed cheese and my biscuit was overcooked. I don't eat pork but my daughter wasn't impressed with the greens. The fried wings were good. Others obviously like it but I won't be returning.

I have lived in Bowie 20+ years and had never heard of Ruby's til 2021. Decided to stop in today, 4-8-2022. I ordered fried whiting, mac&cheese, and green beans. A square of corn bread was included. The food was really good! Not disappointed at all. Their menu has everything imaginable in southern cooking. I will eat their again!

I suggest you call, and place your order. They only offer take out. If you do order there, the wait is about 20 minutes. I really enjoyed the Creole Shrimp, & Grits. Never had it like that before. It was different, but it was good. The Bayou Shimp Pasta is also a good choice.
