We stopped by for lunch. Great atmosphere. Food was delicious.Excellent service. This is a place to go an hang out relax an enjoy a drink.
Great restaurant, was not busy, they had outdoor & indoor seating. Our server held the door for us and welcomed us in. Appetizers came out amazingly fast and the buffalo wings were probably in the top 3 best wings I have had ever. Our meals were delicious and filling. Two other servers checked on us during our meal in addition to our server. I would eat there again. Thank you for a great meal.
I have been going to The Dog for many years. The food is always great and the service is quick. John is always on point running his bar. The place is very clean and he does a great job keeping the place clean and up to date given the age of the building it looks great. ?
Great place to grab a drink and a bite to eat. I had the gyro with curly fries and it was so yummy! Mr. John at the bar is so funny…reminds me of my Dad ? not pretentious at all.
We went to the Barking Dog for a nightcap. It is a perfect bar which offers dining as well though we were all full from dinner. Very safe and comfortable. Due to the Marriott construction, we were directed to the incorrect side of the building though we persevered and you will be glad if you choose The Barking Dog
We had dinner and drinks here while we were in Bethesda for a few days. It's a nice local pub. Dinner was not fancy, but was good pub food. We ate outside and our waitress was very attentive and friendly. Definitely a good place to have a drink and enjoy the local color!
I stopped in for a quick bite and a few drinks. I had the Cheesesteak sandwich with fries. The sandwich was great as were the fries. The drinks were on point. The server was very attentive and polite. Also, the manager was very attentive as well. They have outdoor dining also for those who prefer that.
Great old fashioned “dive bar” in the best sense. Not the least bit uptight or pretentious. Big diversity of clients. Very entertaining. The owner Bob, is a perfect party host making sure everyone is happy and well served. Definitely worth a stop in any Bethesda bar hopping night. You may hang till closing time.
This bar is not for the faint of heart but, not in a bad way. I just started going recently but due to the friendly, awesome, communicative and caring community and staff this bar has now become my favorite. I work right down the street and hit this bar each time I am available after work. From Rob and Sam there is without a doubt amazing management who know what they're doing and do it right. For John, owning a bar is no where near easy from experience (especially in Bethesda) but he is what makes the place selective in a way. I read all of the negative reviews and I do have to disagree with all of them. This place is accepting of all genders, race, religion, and views. There is absolutely no discrimination at this bar. I love this place and I will continue to support this business from my experiences till the day I die, from the bottom of my heart THANK YOU!!!!!
Really like this bar. I was introduced to this place on my last business trip to Bethesda. It's a very cool small bar. The staff are friendly and helpful and always keep your glasses full. I really like the ambiance of the place as it's not a corporate chain that tries too hard to justify price gouging. This is my go-to bar for all of my trips to the area.
