It’s so unfortunate seeing this place turn into what it has become. The first thing we noticed when walking is was the gross dirty floors. These floors were not just dirty from a long busy day it looks like no one has cleaned them in months. The beautiful plant wall that had been a part of this building for quite awhile is mostly dead. This is also something that looks like no one has taken care of it in months. The staff was pretty friendly, we ordered 2 lates… they were actually extremely good just way overpriced. We paid $13 for two (pretty small lates) and we get specialty places cost a bit more but not really sure what we paid for because the place was very dirty and run dry
Yes, they do have good gelato but this is grossly overpriced. $7.50 for a Regular (smallest size and truly is small). I get it — good quality ingredients, blah blah blah. But even authentic gelato in Italy doesn’t cost this much. And note to the manager: spruce up the place and water your plant wall — it looks unhappier than customers who realize they’ve overpaid.
Gelato was pretty good but this place is way too overpriced for what it is. I ordered a small gelato (but got charged for a regular) and a hot chocolate and got charged $15. Also the cashier added her own tip. Like I would’ve been happy to tip but she literally took it upon herself to tip herself 20%.
Nice little place, nice area. Parking is difficult. Not many caffeine-free drink options though.
Super cute and comfy place at the corner with Gelato and COFFEE. I was here for the coffee. They have plenty of flavors and I got the turmeric latte. It was so gooood. It has a place to sit if you want to work on a computer. Beautiful plants and bright light inside is everything. The staff was also wonderful. Overall upbeat experience. I would definitely make a stop if I pass by or happen to be in the area.
Lady with dreads has been rude 3/3 times I've been there. Nice place, ruined if she's the one working
Really delicious gelato and neat space! Great place to work, eat gelato, grab a coffee, and chill.
I was on my way to pick up a sushi order and passed by, not thinking they would be open on a cold November (4th) night. Thankfully I was wrong! I was able to get a fantastic fresh cup of coffee. I wish I had more time because the gelatos looked really really good. Next time I am on Bethesda that's the place I'll be ordering from.
Happened on this little gem with great atmosphere and excellent lattes plus a handful of pastries. I was looking for a place to work for an hour or so, and the floor-to-ceiling windows, sparse crowd, and coffee were perfect. I’ll be back. Kinda wish they had lunch food, but it also meant I didn’t feel bad just getting a latte and almond tart. Reminds me of La Gelatteria but without the hot food.
The woman at Pitango was super cheerful and the cappuccino and iced tea were both perfectly brewed. Need to come back for the sour cherry sorbet!
