So I’m not sure where to start. We attempted to go here twice and they were supposed to be open but we’re closed. Third attempt they were open. The kid working made sure we all knew there should be two workers, not one. Told us over and over. Complained that people hadn’t been tipping well that given day - not I tipped 20% and, quite frankly, he took my order and made my food which is what he’s paid to do (he didn’t bring out our food nor bus tables). We got the large lobster roll, the large crab roll, one clam chowder, one lobster bisque and a lobster Mac and cheese. Best thing was the crab roll with the clam chowder second best. But everything was just average. Neither crab nor lobster were sweet - they were bland. And note that these are COLD rolls. I guess we are used to our shellfish being warmed up a bit.
Johnese is the example of a stellar employee, not only is she an asset to this establishment. She runs this place with an iron fist…in a good way! Make sure she stays please!!
Not worth it. The price is too high and the food is subpar. I purchased the Trio and who knew the sandwiches would be cold? Not I. It doesn't say it on the menu. The clam chowder was disgusting, chewy, watery and clearly something out of a can. The crab roll was revolting and nauseating. The rolls have nothing on them besides the seafood and they charge you extra if you want mayo, this is the greediest place I have ever been to. I read reviews about this place and decided I would try it for myself, but I agree with the bad reviews. The lady at the front wasn't going to give me my side until I asked about it as if she thought I didn't know it comes with one.
We've been there twice and the food itself is good. I bought 3 6oz rolls for my wife and I for take out. I'm givinf 4 stars because the food is excellent. I wouldgive 5 stars for this visit but I can't and I'll explain later. The location is very busy and depending on when you visit, you may have a difficult time finding parking, but it's worth it. The place is small, you enter into a small place for only two people and you immediately the cashier. Seating is to the left. It's run by youngsters and the first time we visited, a young man and woman were there and the woman didn't greet at us at all but the man who took the order did; professionally in fact. We told him that this was our 1st time visiting and he patiently explained the menu and we ate in. 5 stars for this visit. Yesterday, (7/25) was a different story. There were two young ladies there and the place was empty when we walked in and (this is the reason for the 4 star rating) they never looked looked up. We waited a moment, leaned sideways trying to get their attention and this didn't work. We said "hello-oo" and the one behind the cash register gradually looked up and mumbled, can I help you? As if her mind was totally somewhere else. This was right after walking past a man on the street who was on a phone and coughed in my direction and didn't cover his mouth and didn't cough again. Good thing we were wearing our masks. Good food and I'd go back, but the environment.... This should not matter, but I don't want to give the wrong impression either. My wife and I were suited and booted. Management, please train your staff on how to properly greet and handle customers! Your food is expensive and good. But it takes a bit of effort to get there and it didn't feel right when we walked in because we didn't feel welcome.
They have the best lobster sandwich and great service. We love it.
Best lobster roll of the entire vaca! Is it possibly more expensive than some other spots? Maybe. But totally worth it. You get what you pay for! Service was quick and everything was super fresh. Seasoned great. The coleslaw was different than I’ve tried but it was so good and complimented the roll. Perfect, buttery, toasted roll. My husband also enjoyed his clam chowder. They are also in a great location. Lots to see after a great lunch. We hope we get a chance to come back!
Very good lobster rolls (and I'm really, really picky about my seafood). The interior smelled a bit that day, but that could have been unusual. I'll try it again to check on that issue. I'd recommend this place as long as you get your food to go or eat at the outdoor seating.
People that work here are extremely rude, is it because it is at end of night? Left
Hate to give this 5 stars because it will keep the line long, but they do a very good job. Go and give them your money and a big tip
I gave this place a second ( and last) try today, the two girls working there are very rude, both times no greetings when I said Hello to them, they look like they hate their job and don’t even make eye contact with the customer. Will stick with Luke’s lobster at M street Georgetown, the service there is outstanding!
