Dear Hawkers owner, please check with your staffs on how to make soup dumplings and broth for noodle soups (wonton noodle soup). They were very disappointing!!! No authentic flavor, either lack of seasoning (wonton broth) or over seasoning and no soup inside the dumplings (soup dumplings). (5/10)The atmosphere and decors: 9/10Food: 5-8/10. The meat skewers were tasty and tender but so little for the price (8/10). Crispy pork belly were very crispy indeed, but the seasoning was not quiet right (6/10). Spicy Chicken bao was tasty (8/10). Curry laksa ramen was ok, texture was good, taste could be better (7/10). Do you need help with recipe developing?Drink: we tried the Cucumber sake and it was great! (9/10)Service: 9/10. Service was great, but so funny when I asked for fish sauce/soy sauce (not even dare to ask for MSG/chicken seasoning assuming they don’t have it) to add to my soup because the flavor was so plain. The waitress was not even sure if they have fish sauce. Then she brought out a “fish sauce” mixture which was not fish sauce at all ? Hawkers!!! Selling Asian food with no authentic fish sauce? ?Overall, I am not going to be here again for the Asian street food unless they improve the recipes and food quantity plus quality! They have all decors and drinks and everything else so Asian vibe…but the food…C’mon!!!!
Very unimpressed with the food here. The food came out at lukewarm temperatures and was very bland. I have had way better bao buns. The ones here tasted stale. The discount listed on the receipt was for the not so happy “happy hour.” I hated my margarita. I left it right there with the everything else. I kindly paid for the mediocre food and service and went on about my evening.
We had an incredibly delicious meal on a Friday night. We asked for a table outside and we only had to wait about 15 minutes even though they were busy. Terrence our waiter was nice and made good recommendations since it was our first time. We started with steamed chicken dumplings and the roti canai, both were excellent. For the main course we had the steak and kimchi fried rice, chicken lomein, yaki Udon, and the kimchi lettuce wrap. Everyone was more than happy with their meal and had a wonderful time. The atmosphere is also fun and the decor of this place is really cool and vibrant. No wonder it is always packed.
I would give 6 stars to the interior design if I can.Perfect scene as a 90's backalley street food market. Everything has so much detail. A very cool place. Even have 90's music in the restroom.Even the menu graphic is very amazing.Food is great flavor and is mostly authentic.I didn't give 5 star only because the soup dumpling is really bad. Please avoid. The soup dumpling is not fresh made. Wrap was all broken and no soup left in the dumpling( which is the most important part of this dim sum). If owner see this comment. Please please fix it. Everything was amazing but this trash soup dumpling is disappointing.
The thing that stood out for me at Hawkers Bethesda was the ambiance. The food was ok at best.About the vibes, the moment you enter this place, you feel that you are at a futuristic cyberpunk style eatery with funky interiors.WHEN IT COMES TO FOOD, THE STORY IS ENTIRELY DIFFERENT. This restaurant suffers with the exact same issues that you find in any large restaurant chain. Most of the stuff on the menu is just oily fast food fare. Food comes out fast, looks ok, is dripping in oil, but in the end just satisfies your palate at best.If I had to rate this restaurant on a scale of Yay to nay.... I would say meh.... You should definitely give it one shot though. You may love it or don't like it. I definitely didn't like it.Must try if you decide to go -1. Coconut Shrimps2. Five spice Green beans3. Chicken Yaki udon4. Hawkers delightDo not try -1. Sichuan wontons (The filling sucks)
Good eats and drinks. Everyone is very friendly and very professional especially Tony and Christine but hands ?? to everyone who works tirelessly in the restaurant to make our restaurant / bar experience unprecedented right from the kitchen staff all the way to the General Manager. Please stop by Hawkers in Bethesda?????
We had lunch today. The tastes was quite good, but the portions were veryyy small. I had Hawker’s Delight, which was kinda stir fried mix w/ black soy sauce… it was so so… Chicken satays were a bit raw. It was my last 2 bites, so … I did not feel very good after eating. We did love the siting and services was extremely nice. I was hoping this place can become our regular hangout venue..

I was at hawkers for brunch yesterday and everything was great! Didn’t really know what to order however Dani recommended the best dishes. The Soup dumplings were to die for…definitely coming back!
Came for a quick bite to eat and I regret not staying longer. The food was absolutely delicious! Definitely will be coming back to try other things on the menu. Love the decor and the ambiance.
