I took two family members from out of town as they wanted seafood and this restaurant was recommended to me. To say I was disappointed and embarrassed is an understatement. I ordered a Lobster Tail. After two bites I saw the Lobster Tomalley still on the tail! It was the most disgusting thing to see. Lobster Tomalley is not for consumption! One family member ordered a Caesar salad with chicken and it had two pieces of chicken in a whole head of lettuce. My other family member ordered a seafood pasta dish and it had artificial crab in it. We ordered cocktails and the waiter brought shots of the liquor in glasses and soda in cans for us to mix!! I don't understand why this restaurant has good reviews because our service and the food were awful. I will never recommend this restaurant to anyone!
My wife and I took my sister-in-law and fiance for a later lunch/early dinner on a recent Sunday. I recognize that restaurants follow certain Covid protocols, but to not provide a wine list when one is seated is not acceptable (I had to chase an employee down to get one). As for the food, it was just plain awful. Three of the persons in the group ordered cream of crab soup. It was so salty that not one person could finish even a cup. Also, it appeared as if it was the chef's day off. I had a pasta dish with seafood and a red sauce. The sauce was so watery, it was almost tasteless. My wife also had a pasta/seafood dish which she couldn't finissh. Also, since the restaurant claims to be Italian, why wasn't there bread on the tab le for scarpetta. Aside from the quality of the dishes, their should have been some bread to be used with the sauce. The focaccio was OK, but not useful for this purpose. I could go on, but I cannot recommend this restaurant at all.
This was our first visit to Chef Tony's. It was highly recommend. We arrived for our reservation and were seated promptly. We had a toddler who was tired, so we asked if we could get a to go order instead. They were very accommodating and the time we waited for our food was not long.We ordered 3 of the crab cake special and one parmesan crusted cod as well as one blueberry cheesecake and one raspberry cheesecake. Both cheesecakes were delicious. The mixed vegetables were perfectly cooked. The mashed potatoes were delicious. The cod was good too. Unfortunately, two of the three crab cakes had shell in every bite. We will go back, but will not have the crab cake.
I started seeing reviews on the MoCo Restaurant page, I love fish and was looking to add a new restaurant to my rotation! Chef Tony’s is fabulous, the food is great! I am slowly working my way through the menu, so far I’ve had Halibut, Red Snapper, Trout & Scallops all great! Incredible taste❤️ This is he one of the best restaurants around.
70-degree weather was ideal for sitting outside on their large patio at Chef Tony's Promenade Towers location, 5225 Pooks Hill Road, Bethesda, MD 20814. We have been long-time patrons of Chef Tony's Seafood in downtown Bethesda and now at the Promenade. Word has it that he is looking for a new downtown location. My favorite for brunch is the Poached Eggs Chesapeake consisting of two poached eggs, crab meat, and spinach on English muffins drizzled with Old Bay sauce; home fries and bacon on the side. My wife raved about the Vegetarian Omelet with tomato, mushrooms, onion, spinach, asparagus, and cheese.
We had a great experience dinning at Chef Tonys. We were exclusively looking for a seafood restaurant and i must say our choice was perfect. The staff was friendly, the food we ordered was great and will definitely come back to dive in more on the menu.
What a wonderful experience! The servers worked as a team and were very friendly and accommodating. Loved that the bread was pre-cut, although I was dining with people that don't manhandle the bread. My dining partners enjoyed their drinks and I did a well although I forgot the name of it. We had the crab of crab soup which was flavorful and creamy. The goat cheese with dried cranberries on top of spinach salad was was pre-dressed with an amazing dressing! Yummy!!Our meals were a Red Snapper (whole) special, Halibut and a Seafood Stew, I believe. To savor the experience we all took some home. So delicious, even the 2nd day. Such great options to select from, so multiple visits are needed.Chef Tony came around to say hi and chop it up with us a bit to make us feel welcomed. Will definitely visit again. A 2nd location is coming soon, so no better time. Check them out, you'll love it too!
Delicious fresh seafood. I always satisfied with foods.I’ll be there again. Thank you, Tony!
We always enjoy the food and the hospitality. The location may not be obvious, but it is easy to reach at the Promenade apartment building. The security post will give you directions as you enter, and parking is easy.
The steak skewers with the plaintains...wow. SO good. Can you please open a another location in Cabin John Village?
