Service and atmosphere were amazing! The murals and lights were pretty, I could find something new every time I looked around. The food was alright, nothing super amazing or special, but good. The dessert was amazing, I got the fried ice cream but I’m sure the cake and churros would’ve been even better.
Noah and all of the staff are amazing and on top of their service game. They are all so nice and we highly recommend this place for its overall excellence! Tacos were delicious. Beer was cold and tequila was on point.
Alex is an outstanding Server and Waiter. He was welcoming, he understands the menus and has suggested interesting combinations to bring out different nuances of the menus selections. I could go on on this.. Alex is thoughtful, he is friendly, engaging, a hard working employee, and a thoughtful addition to and for your customers, He also Speaks both Spanish and Brazilian
Alex was a great server. Very attentive! Food was delicious! Ordered fajita muchi gusto style, chicken, steak and shrimp loaded with peppers and onions. Sides were guacamole, rice, sour cream! Yum! Definitely returning to Mucho Gusto!
I chose this restaurant for my family birthday dinner because of good reviews from my family. I was not at all impressed with our waiter. I worried when he didn't write any of our orders down, and sure enough, he got mine wrong. He brought out fajitas for me instead of tamales with a side of elotes. I reminded him of what I had ordered; he said "Oh yeah!" Unfortunately, my grandson had finished his food by the time my meal had arrived with no apology. The tamales were awful; way too salty and very dry. I wasn't about to return them at that point because because everyone else was nearly done. I ate only about a third of one tamale. I wasn't offered a comp, but I requested one-- a slice of banana milk cake, which was delicious. My street corn (elotes) was amazing as was the mole sauce on my daughter's enchiladas. The chips and sauce were very good as well. My $10 house margarita was fine but on the small side.
With such a variety of Mexican (Tex Mex) restaurants in the area, what is the value of another one? Let's begin with outdoor seating, which though it seems typical of many restaurants these days, is not a typical feature of Tex Mex restaurants. Second, Mucho Gusto is a step up from many of the garden variety Tex Mex restaurants in the area run out of converted older restaurants. There is a level of service and attention to detail that makes this place shine. As for the food: I always go for the Chimichanga as it seems like such a staple food and a good measure of how a border food restaurant fares against the competition. The beef Chimichanga is not doused in liquid queso nor is the shell a greasy mess. It is a more upscale take on a classic food with a light flaky exterior and flavorful interior. The rice and beef are perfectly combined. The nachos are also "lighter," but satisfying, and you don't feel like you are carrying a rock in your stomach when you leave. ? All in all, a great addition to the community!
Amazing outdoor ambiance !
The food was ok, but the service was very poor. The restaurant was not crowded, and after taking our drink order,it took another 25 minutes for our waiter to return for our dinner order. It then took awhile for the food to come and we only ordered tacos. We were there a total of 1 hour and 45 minutes. During that whole time, our waiter never came back to refill our drinks. He also was not very friendly.
It was our first time and will not be our last!…all 8 of us loved our food and Alex was a very good server :)
If you're one who likes free chips and salsa, this is not the place for you (you can purchase them though). If you like those big margarita glasses, this is not the place for you. If you don't like to spend a lot of money (although everything is expensive now days), this is not the place for you. However, if you want delicious, hot/sizzling food (of reasonable portions), this is the place to go. If you want excellent wait service (shout-out to Alex), this is the place to go. The menu is not real big, but there is something for everyone. The food is presented beautifully too! Try the milk cake for dessert.
