I always ask my sons th a dinner here when I visit.Ever I’tried is awesome. Love their labneh and falafel.. BYOB if you want spirits.
Food is good but beaware of the extra charges that can be added to your bill in the name of "inflation charges". When asked the waiter if gratuity is included of 18% to the bill, he replied no. I than added 15% gratuity but when I saw the receipt they already added 20% manually. For a $87 meal, I paid $34 in tips. When I confronted the waiter, he had no answers.Pls be aware and dont get ripped off by custom/inflation charges.
Was meeting friends from philadelphia and thought of meeting up here as some were vegetarian. The restaurant was empty yet to the waitress 20 mins to take our order. Did came quickly, entrée came before the appetiser had finished. Had the lamb kebab, the lamb was tough and dry, not what you expect from an authentic Mediterranean restaurant.
I looked up two of the dishes we ordered yesterday: makdous and mahammarah. Both originated around Syria - Lebanon - Jordan rather than--as I had guessed--Morocco or Algeria. Fittingly, za'atar is a spice blend of dried thyme, oregano, marjoram, sumac, toasted sesame seeds and salt, commonly used in many Middle-eastern cuisines. But all that etymology doesn't excuse the absence of printed menus, a wall display or even a chalk-board for customers unwary enough to amble in without a smart phone. The food was ample and good enough, though we had to request glasses for our drinks, no spoons were provided for sharing dishes, and each individual table setting was a plastic knife and fork rolled in a paper napkin.
It's too bad, this place has potential. The building itself is beautiful. The food is ok at best. No liquor license which really bites and the kicker for me.... plastic utensils and paper napkins!! Are you kidding me?? If you need to resort to that, close the doors and get a food truck.
I ordered online from this place some times- good packaging, good quality
So good!!! I had falafel and my husband had a mixed kebob dish. And some vegan stuffed grape leaves and hummus. Might be the best hummus I've ever had!!! Everything was delish and the people who work there are lovely!
Not a satisfying meal. I bought two dishes: the falafel platter with a side of rice & the veggie kabob with a side of salad.Though the falafel was delicious and not super oily, the falafel platter doesn’t come with any vegetables... The rice and hummus were delicious. I didn’t get any pickles, even though the menu lists them as part of the platter.I wasn’t a fan of how the veggies tasted in the veggie kabob, but perhaps that’s just personal preference so I’m not including that factor in the ranking of the review. The ali baba bread was yummy.‼️They are losing stars partially because they label dishes that contain yogurt as vegan. So I wasn’t sure if all the sauces that came with my “vegan” dish were actually vegan.?? They give out their meals in plastic bags, which is illegal in Baltimore City.
Really good portions, fair prices. Everything comes with a generous dose of sauce and sauce on the side. You can also ask yhem for extra sauce if dining in. The mint lemonade and coffee are made fresh per order, and they're insanely good. By far my go-to spot in Bmore for casual dining
Our experience at Zaatar was really superbThe service was impeccable, the portions were reasonably rich and it tasted so good! This is definitely one of the best mediterranean Middle Eastern cuisine we've had in the US North East!
